View Full Version : Why does the media lie and say that Pippen guarded the opponent's best player?

Jordan was the primary defender on Magic, Drexler, Miller, Payton, and Isiah

Pippen only guarded Penny as the primary defender, who torched him, and Pippen got less DPOY votes than MJ every year.

So why does the media lie about the GOAT? Why do they say Pippen led the defense and assists, when MJ led Pippen in both categories.

At least the media doesn’t go from calling players the most overrated of all time and trash to top 10 players ever in the span of a few months like certain fakkits we know

Harper would guard the opposing best guard, but MJ would be the one gettin All-defensive nods.

Rigged for MJ.

I don't remember Harper guarding Drexler, Magic, or Isiah - Harper wasn't there during the 1st three-peat and Paxson was a liabilty, so MJ had to guard everyone in those years..

But even during the 2nd three-peat, MJ was the primary defender on a few point guards like Gary Payton, Rod Strickland or Tim Hardaway (all are shown in the youtube channel "Nobody Touches Jordan")...

Regardless, Pippen was almost never the primary defender on the opponent's best player, yet the media lies and says he is - THAT'S HOW BAD PIPPEN'S OFFENSE WAS THAT THE MEDIA HAD TO EXAGGERRATE HIS DEFENSE... THAT'S LITERALLY WHAT HAS HAPPENED...

so he's among the most overrated players ever.. maybe THE most overrated.

MJ even took on Reggie and ran through screens to shut him down in '98 because he was torching everyone else... held him to 0 pts and just 1 shot in the 4th quarter of a Game 7. Harper was great too but he played about 25-27 minutes per game in the RS & Playoffs.

They just basically guarded their opposite numbers.
Don't know what the big fuss is about.
Unless... AGENDA.

This is mostly true, except when MJ was the primary defender on Magic, who is normally guarded by SF's.. So MJ was doing Pippen's job for him most of that series, primarily because heading into that series, Pippen had been a young benchwarmer and choker from 88-90', so he wasn't even considered for the job of starting the series on Magic in his first Finals.
