Guy's stats is like Shaq's early Miami stint.

I can't stand the guy, but the Lakers were nuts to let him go.

I think it depends on the situation. A title contender like a kawhi or lebron team, he's not the best fit because he's not a great playoff performer.

Put him on a below average team like wizards though and he can cap your ceiling and make you a top 5 team in the conference. He leads wizards in every advanced stat right now, top 6 in VORP and they are a top 3 seed. He's an allstar this season. I'm not sure what the best comparison historically for him would be, maybe poor mans kevin mchale

He is absolutely elite within 10 ft of the rim on offense. Doesn't do much else, but does it hard as hell.

Best bench player in the league. He's insanely efficient at what he does to the point where he's 4th in PER, 3rd in WS/48, 5th in BPM and 6th in VORP. And it's not like he's playing 15-20 a game, he's at 28 mpg and is more efficient than Steph and KD. He might be in the Rudy Gobert tier though with how unplayable he becomes in the Playoffs.

He's been our best player. He's bailed out our offense time and again when everyone else was garbage, keeping us in games that could have gotten away from us.

Really, really good...

not sure why he didnt ball hard for LAL but coaches were dumb not to give him PT for sure.

What is up with the L at the end of his first name? That should be a W.

Low key an elite scorer. He’s undersized and gets exploited on defense otherwise he would be a starter.

His stats were similar in LA on a per minute basis lol.

Bad fit with Lebron & AD.

Ideal off the bench as an undersized C-PF type. ESPECIALLY in this era where you don't have as many dominant interior presences. Not really a guy made to start because he's not truly ELITE at any one area (scoring, passing, rebounding, or defending). From there, he's not a stretch PF or C. His scoring skillset isn't anything to write home about. And he's undersized. Even though being undersized isn't as big of a deal in today's era, he's still a guy who is GREAT in a sixth man type of role.

Eh his stats were about the same as they always were rate wise. He just hurt spacing. Also when I watched it seemed like only LeBron really looked for him of the Lakers players. Saw him get ignored a ton by Schroeder.

Corliss Williamson of the 2020s.

Under LeBron ball = meh

Without LeBron ball = All Star level

He looked like an All Star with the Clippers and now the Wizards. He's the furthest thing from a spot up shooter which is why he failed with the Lakers.

Which is why he was a bad fit. A guy with his skillset clogs up the lane. Fine for the RS when guys need rest but obviously got no minutes in the POs because of it. Not big enough to be effective defensively as a 5 either. Doc Rivers was willing to lose with him on the court in the 2020 POs for whatever reason.

He shot 62% from the field with the Lakers. Pretty good for a spot up shooter, eh? Maybe he should be utilized like that more often.

Nah but in all seriousness his catch and shoot % with the Lakers was 4%. It's 6% this year.

I can't recall him even taking a catch and shoot this year. Definitely not the kind of guy who is going to space the floor. He's got his own kind of floor spacing gravity though, where he pulls players in the the paint.

I've watched pretty much every wiz game this year. And they're a very interesting squad stylistically. I'm probably going to wait and see how they hold up before I start writing essays explaining what I'm seeing.

Yea I mean he’s never been a catch and shoot player I was just bullshitting the guy who called him a spot up shooter on the Lakers. Technically he’s done it more this year but it’s negligible and who cares anyway.

I think I a lot of the Wiz success so far has come from their chemistry and energy on defense. I worry that that might catch up eventually. Still could be a 45 or so win team but I’m not sure I can see them winning much more than that.

Their chemistry on offense had been pretty bad. Their defense and rebounding has allowed them to stay in games that would have been double digit losses in the past. They hang around then hit some big shots in the 4th to pull out the win. That has been the story for several of their wins.

They almost did that last night against the hornets in spite of a huge 3 pt shooting disparity. The hornets were 15-31 from 3 and we were 9-36 but it was a 2 point game with less than a minute left after being down 15 with 9:30 left.

Only 4 teams are shooting worse from three than the wizards 32.7%, and 3 of those teams are tanking.

By chemistry I didn’t necessarily mean they move the ball like the warriors or previous spurs teams. Just that they all are playing hard together and seem to be feeding off one another in a sense.
