"DeMar DeRozan became the first player in Bulls history to score 35-plus points on 65% shooting in back-to-back games since Michael Jordan."

"DeRozan’s offensive game is eerily similar to Jordan’s."

Is it safe to say that he's also a ballhog? Anyway, glad to see he's flourishing there in chicago.

Right now DeRozan, who is a living joke meme used as an example of a player who isn't able to shoot 3s, is having a better 3pt% season than Jordan had in 11 of the 12 seasons he played with a proper, non-pee-wee shortened 3 point line. Speaks volumes about Jordan's suckage behind a properly distanced 3 point line. :oldlol:

Funny how mj seems to be a 'big joke' to you but you couldn't stop making threads nor talk about him. Big example of 'rent free' indeed. :ohwell:

And he's half as talented as 2nd 3-Peat Jordan.. Prime MJ puts up 35+ a game on 60+%TS to go along with multiple DPOY awards.

Isn't this killing the narratives about this era? That you have to be a good 3 point shooter?

He's having his best 3-Point shooting season so far though. MJ was also capable of shooting in the mid-30s at around 3 attempts a game and shot 38.7% from 3 at 2.4 3PA in the first 3-Peat, peaking at 38.9%3PT at 3.8 attempts in '93. You don't have to be good but you have to be a threat from outside or have elite shooters around you. Ball and Lavine are both shooting lights out so that helps.

Let's see DeRozan win 6 Finals without a sidekick getting FMVP or averaging 25 ppg in any of the Finals - no one has ever done that more than twice (won a Finals without a teammate getting FMVP or 25 ppg)

* Vernon Maxwell was the Rockets' 2nd leading scorer, so his PPG was used

MJ is #1 all-time in PPG, PER, WS/48, and other key stats while Pippen ranks about 120th in these areas - so there's never been a bigger statistical gap between 1st and 2nd option..

Jordan led Pippen by 10-30 ppg in every series of their career, while everyone else in history needed teammates to match them or lead in scoring for entire playoff runs - i.e. Wade and AD led Lebron in PPG for the 11' and 20' Playoffs, while Kyrie nearly matched Lebron in the 2016 Playoffs.. These equal-scoring partners attract equal defensive attention, so only MJ faced 1-man team defensive coverage for his entire career, as Kenny Smith points out here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UF6Xx3F2Lo&t=114s)

Derozan.... 26
Lavine...... 26

Jordan..... 30

The difference is that Derozan has an equal-scoring partner to attract equal defensive attention, so he doesn't have to beat maximum defensive attention like Jordan, who was the sole focus because he doubled Pippen's playoff scoring and averaged more assists - there's never been a bigger gap between 1st and 2nd option than MJ/Pippen, as the previous post shows.

^^^ I need to add true shooting... ;)

Pippen's advanced stats in 93' are among the worst-ever because his efficiency was so far below the league average during that run (TS and ORTG).. His true shooting was also worst-ever from 96-98' and below league average for every playoff run of his career except 89-91' and 02'

Pippen's 47-50% true shooting in the 93', 96, and 98' Playoffs are 3 of the 7 worst true shootings for a winning sidekick in 3-point history (since 1980)

Jordan shot a little lower in 97' Playoffs because he was tying Rodman for the rebounding lead (8 rpg), while leading the team in APG and nearly doubling Pippen's ppg in playoffs and Finals (maximum defensive attention)... and also leading the league in clutch points (last 5 within 5), while Pippen was MIA in the clutch and forced MJ to make 3 game-winning plays in the Finals

Jordan's TS Add in 1997 playoffs was almost certainly way higher than Pippen's, although we don't have playoff TS Add stats

Uhh, you could have just done this by showing the FGA gaps between MJ & Pippen and it would have been much easier :lol
