Ooof that's tough. On one hand KD can rain those jumpers and on the other hand Malone can back him down in the post and he had pretty good lateral quicks to stay with KD despite his size.

Whose getting the ball first? KD has too wide an array of iso moves combined with the lethal-ness of his jumpshot. Mailman had good lateral quickness but he wasn't having to defend cross-over happy PFs in the 80's and 90's. Conversely, Mailman should be able to bully KD with little effort but Durant does have the length to bother his jumpshot( the reverse isn't the case). Some of these matchups can come down to who gets the ball first and the rules( winner/losers out). If KD gets the ball first I don't him giving up more than once; we've all seen the Olympic training footage when he was cooking everyone in the 1 on 1 drill and some guys like a PG13 would be a better defender for KD than Mailman would be.

A younger Malone was as athletic as most small forwards while being one of the strongest players in the league. Kd probably gives up after the first game with all that banging and dirty/crafty plays Malone does on both ends.

21 and higher, I'm going with Karl Malone. He'd wear him down and definitely get more rebounds. Malone was quite the physical specimen. Apart from the obvious of being a mountain of muscle, he was quick and athletic. Also, Durant could seriously get injured, especially the way Malone plays.
