I was looking back at some stats from Westbrook's stint in Houston. He truly was exceptional for a 22 game period prior to the lockdown. It got me wondering: could an LBJ-at-center lineup work similarly to PJ Tucker at the 5? This wouldn't be a primary lineup, just one they could go to when the matchup is there.
The other night we saw LeBron have success playing the 5. A lot of that was without Westbrook, but I think back to Houston's micro-ball experiment. LeBron is a far better player than PJ Tucker; he's also much larger and more suited to matching up with centers.
What do you think? It needs the best blend of shooting and defense, which is why I've taken Ariza over Melo.
PG: Westbrook
SG: Bradley
SF: Monk
PF: Ariza
C: LeBron

For reference, here's how Russell Westbrook played during those 22 games in Houston:
32.1 PPG / 8.0 RPG / 7.0 APG / 1.8 SPG on 57.25 TS%
Some of those games were with Capela still on the team.

So bench AD? :lol
No, if he was injured or in foul trouble. Would this lineup work in those scenarios against certain matchups?

Yeah maybe if LeBron played like a floor spacing center. He won't though, he's too stubborn.

I really think LeBron at the 5 in small spurts -- when AD is on the bench or injured -- can burst open games. We've seen LA have success with it this season, as well as against Phoenix in the playoffs last year.
Depends on the matchup. It'd be unrealistic against Utah, or Philly, but could work against Miami, Brooklyn, and GSW.

Will they actually play basketball for 4 quarters?
It's beyond line up changes. They don't even take games seriously. Something is up.
