He picked up another injury today he is so injury prone now.

I think Lebron will not catch Kareem on the all-time scoring list as his body is falling apart on him.

He has only had one season of being fully healthy since he came to LA three years ago and that was in 2020.

He has missed almost a season worth's of games in that time frame if he has to sit out for another two weeks.

Nah, he'll break the record. He'll hang around as long as it takes, even if he's dead weight for a team.

If he's smart, he'll give up the point to conserve even more energy.

LeBron looked like he’s injured again. Even when the Lakers win they lose

And they still left him on the floor which is crazy as they are literally risking re-injury to avoid losing to Jerami Grant.

They should've benched him as soon as he was clearly hurting

But I think Vogel could not afford to take LeBron out. 2 losses in a row to Kings and Pistons at home and a 10-12 record would basically force major changes to the team, probably including his job.

He should become the third option on offence behind AD and Westbrook.

Lebron trying to keep averaging over 25PPG at this stage of his career is just idiotic.

He shouldn't be playing 37 minutes and having to put over 30 points to beat the Pistons.

I doubt he's injured. He was just being a whiny *****. If he was actually hurt or even thought he was, he'd be off the floor in a heartbeat.

The guy cries more than Kyle Rittenhouse.

I wouldn't go as far as third option, but he should take a backseat.
Doubt he is mentally capable of that tho.

Blame vogul. Lakers signed all the younger guys to take some of the load and this moron doesn’t play them..

Why would you run melo and bran into the ground in meaningless early season games against lottery teams

He came to LA in the summer of 2019 which is only 2yrs ago.. Their title is barely 1yr old. You're making it sound as if there were two 82gm seasons before the start of this season.

I agree that he probably won't catch Kareem during his current contract, but he might well choose to stay in the league longer than that, it all depends on how many injuries he has.

I was realistically expecting him to average 22-23 ppg this season, but so far he's averaging 26. It's crazy how good he is in his 19th season.
Right now he needs 2737 more points.
If he plays 40 more games this season because of injury, but maintains his average of 25, he will ned 1737 after this season is finished.
That means that if he plays 3 more seasons after this one where he plays 50 games per season, he will need to only average 11.6 ppg over those 3 seasons.
He has a decent chance of breaking the record even if he plays just 2 more seasons after this one, as long as he only misses about 20-25 games each season.
The only thing that will stop him is missing many games, because his ppg will not fall that drastically.

Jesus, he is actually closer to Kareem than I thought.

Yeah, you are right that if he averages over 25 PPG for this season and basically avoids a serious injury such as ACL tear or Achilles injury that would cause him to miss a season.

The record is basically his.

Another question I have is it possible for Lebron to get to 40 thousand points by the time his career is over.

70% chance that he catches Kareem (avoiding injury it's basically 95%).
50-50 on whether he reaches 40K.

I think it depends as much on his role as much as it does his health. Those two are related though. Essentially, and I haven't done the math, but I believe that if he can be content with playing just around 29-31 mpg max along with averaging 20-23ppg he could remain healthy long enough to break the record in a couple of years.

You people are overreacting like crazy. So Lebron has an ab strain he won't be able to get less than 3000 points? I still think he easily gets 40k points to be honest.
