Simple(as simple as time travel trades can be)….
Trade current Ben Simmons for any all star player in history(all stars from that season only). Both resulting teams have to win the title.
Is there a trade you can imagine working?

I can only think of about 4 good picks and 3 of them involve our unholy trinity of players ISH won’t stop discussing….so….I’ll wait for those to come up.

So what allstar could be replaced by Simmons and his team still win a title??
- Kyle Lowry in 2019
- Tony Parker in 2014 or 2007
- Draymond Green

If they BOTH have to win a title, idk if there's a player that could push the Sixers over the top that the team receiving Simmons could afford to lose and still be champions.
My best bet would be Simmons for '82 Magic, the one trade I actually do think both teams could win a title
Other interesting possibilities
Hondo
Frazier
Maurice Lucas
DJ
Toney
Pippen
Parker
Rondo

Early 80s Lakers was one of my 4 possible. You need either crazy depth or an unbelievably overpowering lead to even consider it.

For the unholy trinity, what were you thinking? Pippen like me, '00 or '01 Kobe? I honestly wouldn't pick anybody affiliated with LeBron's teams.

Gotta go Pippen one of the years after he fell off a bit from injury, Kobe in 2000, and maybe Wade or Bosh….probably Bosh from the year he only played like 12 playoff games. A lot of individual things happened he wouldn’t replicate(Blazers game 7 plays….Pacers game 4….a lot of things like that). But with him in place the seasons wouldn’t unfold the same anyway. Just a matter of the teams basic level of play and what they needed to win as they were. All those teams compete with Ben and I’d say Philly with Kobe is maybe a favorite….Bosh and declined Pippen less so…but dangerous.

LeBron & Simmons is a dreadful pairing, not that much more ideal offensively than he and Westbrook currently are. Even if you get past that, I don't think 2012-13 Bosh is putting the 76ers over the top, maybe 2012 Wade, but I wouldn't bet on it.
While I do think there are other perimeter players that could replicate Kobe's success with Shaq, Simmons is not one of them. He'd never be able to duplicate Kobe's role as the closer on those teams, and he'd be as much of a liability at the FT line as Shaq.

Duplicating roles isn’t the goal. The goal is winning. Ben isn’t trying to be Kobe. He wouldn’t try even if you asked. He’d just be driving and finding Glen Rice a lot more, stepping in nicely for Kobe on D only being more well rounded due to size, and playing in the front court a lot. Be a totally different kind of approach. Same with Bosh. He’s not shooting midrange shots but with Bosh doing like 12ppg and missing half the playoffs he doesn’t have to replace peak Bosh production. He has to filll Bosh’s primary role from that point which was defensive a lot of the time. Locked in Wade, Lebron, and Ben guarding 2/3/4 switching everything could be a terror.
No question you contend just off Wade and Lebron. Ben is just an extra guy creating threes for role players and locking people up. Like if a toned down 6th man era Rodman could also generate 4-5 threes a game for teammates and push the tempo on demand.
Wouldn’t even attempt to replace those players strengths. Those teams had good enough players he wouldn’t have to.

In 2017 GSW had 4 all stars, so thats the easy answer, replace Ben with any one of them and GSW still have a decent chance for the title and of course phily become favourites too.
rodman in 1990 maybe too?

Yea Warriors with Steph/Kd/Ben/Dray would be absolute terrors on D with more than enough offense and the 76ers with Klay wild be pretty nasty. I wasn’t even thinking of teams that recent though I should have been.

Easily could win a championship with him. Just don’t ask him to do too much. He’s an insanely talented defender and could be one of the best rim runners in the game with court vision to boot.
If he accepted the task of being just that guy he’d be Draymond+++
But Draymonds personality is half of his game so it’s tough. I don’t know that he has that but at this point he should understand his game a little bit better.
