So it isn't coincidence that he won more rings and won more frequently than they did (6 rings in 11 full seasons) - his low ball-dominance gave his team the most capacity for offensive sophistication.

If we did a skills test and told these players that they had to play a full season without using any live dribbles - only MJ could still produce at an elite level - even Kobe would struggle

MJ's also the worst player of that group

That’s weird because Durant is the better shooter

Jordan had a 36% usage in the 1st 3peat and 35% usage in the 2nd 3peat.

Nobody has ever had usage that high during their titles. Kawhi had a carry job with raptors and still ended up at just 33%

I don't know why you get this impression that Jordan wasn't ball dominant.

I agree that Kawhi Leonard sucks

Usage isn't ball-domination.... at all

Usage = shot attempts + FT's + turnovers

It measures how often a player closed a possession personally

Reggie Miller could have high usage if he shot it enough

Otoh, "hold-time" (also called time of possession (https://www.nba.com/stats/players/touches/?Season=2017-18&SeasonType=Playoffs&sort=TIME_OF_POSS&dir=1)) = ball-domination

Usage in the way it's calculated has nothing to do with ball dominating bro.

Jordan never hogged the ball because his team was just THAT bad - unlike Lebron's early Cavs teams, there was no East all-star center to throw the ball to... Nor was there a 22/5/5 all-defender acquisition... Nor was there an all-star like Mo to destroy the stats of 90' pippen across the board... Jordan had to wait until 1991 to get that kind of production from a teammate..

Nor was there 2x all-star and 22/10 Jamison, or even old Shaq (destroys any center that Jordan ever had)..

Accordingly, jordan's undecorated casts were LOW SEEDS in a conference that required a super-team to win, while Lebron's decorated casts were HIGH SEEDS in a conference that 1-star teams were winning.

Btw, people think that a player needs to play like Lebron to control a game (dominate the ball) - but Jordan controlled the game more by closing as many possessions as possible - it matters little who starts the possession, and more who finishes it..

Accordingly, Lebron could control the game more by dominating the ball less and being an off-ball closer/assist target like jordan was - being an assist target elevates teammate role to playmaker, whereas Lebron's ball-dominance reduces teammates to spot-up roles, so young ball-handlers like Ingram, Hughes or Pippen can't develop.

Jordan's team won 55 games without him, he had plenty of help
