The Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed last week that inflation in the US rose by 6.8% between November 2020 and November 2021 – the highest since 1982.
Gasoline has risen by 58.1%, while new vehicles and used cars have shot up by 11.1% and 31.4% respectively. Food has risen by 6.1%.

Actual inflation numbers are well over 10%; this might be surprising, but we are being lied to. Nothing that use to cost $100.00 not too long ago costs $106.50 today. It's more in the $120 to $160 range now under Racist joe biden.

And it's thanks in large part to Donald Trump's War on Covid-19. We are still living in Trump's National State of Emergency, which has helped allocate $10.3 trillion dollars for a supposed "pandemic" (where less people are hospitalized and admitted to the ER than the years prior).
Biden is just picking up where Trump left off.

Not in the way you think. You are using recent history to obfuscate the evaluation of Joe Biden here. Kind of ironic for a guy who rails on the media for being disingenuous.

Trump was dangerous. We were under so much danger from Trump. Trump was literally putting us in danger. We are so much safer and better off without Trump. Trump was a dictator and a tyrant. All those people he killed and he created the virus and he was going to nuke our allies. Trump is a war criminal and Biden is going to fix all the things that Trump did wrong.

to say that the past administration had no doing in where we're at right now is partisan bullshit. cleverness framed it simply and perfectly - trump started it and biden's continuing it. blind spending & lockdowns by both administrations have put us in the shitter. i don't know what's so hard to understand about that.
what does the media have anything to do with what's being discussed here?

The past administration doesn't have anything to do with evaluating Biden's first year in office. Framing it as more of the same is just a way to conceal disappointment. Whatever. Do you and keep applying that "partisan bullshit" label where it doesn't fit.

Don't forget home prices at 19.5%! They are projected to do nearly the same next year....so no homes for anyone except the rich! YAY

what are you going on about? we're not 'evaluating joe biden's first year' here. the subject is where inflation is at this present point in time. that's the thread topic. to only point the finger at the current administration over it is... partisan bullshit. especially only one year in. one year is not a long time.
i blame both administrations because both of their fiscal policies, lockdowns and reckless spending can only logically lead us here. op and yourself are putting the blame on only one of them.
so who's the hack? who's more humble?
'applying that partisan label where it doesn't fit'. that's the second time you've said that to me now under two different accounts.

Inflation is a problem affecting the well-being of Americans right now. Biden campaigned on a promise of a more equitable economy. Low food prices for example have been a way to subsidize the cost of living for the people earning low wages. Inflation has achieved the opposite of his campaign message. You're goddamn right I don't accept that he can't deliver because of the situation he inherited from Donald Trump. I don't want to hear that. The buck stops with the Biden administration because the current needs of the people are immediate.
You are the hack. You don't really say anything in your posts. You blame both administrations because you feel like it protects you against criticism. Here's your analysis:
Trump started it, Biden continues it (root cause :lol)
Partisan bullshit (deflection)
fiscal policy (vague)
lockdown (emotional appeal)
reckless spending (vague/emotional appeal)
I'm going to make an assumption here and say you stay away from specifics because these are ideas you picked up somewhere else that sounded good to you. There's no research or data to support anything you're saying, but you're comfortable saying it's a logical conclusion because these vague ideas make sense to you. The only defense you have is scrambling behind your shield of "partisan bullshit"
You can't possibly conceive a reality where two people form the same impression of you? I am 2 different accounts? Okay. Real humble :lol

regarding your last paragraph - possible, but not likely. not the way you framed it in both regards.

Inflation is part of the reason for house prices being up so much. The interest rates is also very low, which is the other big reason. Feds have announced 3 interest rates hikes in 2022 alone so interest rates are going up. Feds are also pulling the plug on bond-buying. Those 2 things will bring housing prices tumbling down by the summer (probably more so the interest rates).

Also keep in mind that the current budget is still Trump's final year budget.
These partisan hacks were celebrating Trump in 2017 and refusing to admit that it was still Obama's final budget year. This time around, the narrative has flipped 180 degrees to still celebrating Trump in 2021 and trashing Biden, who has pretty much followed Trump's policies. It's difficult to trash one without trashing the other.

Should be interesting to see what happens with home ownership. After dipping to a 60 year low in 2016 under Obama. Home ownership skyrocketed upward from 2017-2020. Should be interesting to see what happens with home ownership numbers under Biden

Well, it's a housing bubble that has been building up for a few years, and bubbles eventually always pop.
I have read economists say it's not exclusive to USA either. China, Australia, New Zealand, several European countries, etc all are dealing with housing bubbles. China might be the worst of all, and they are at the tail end before their housing bubble bursts. China is going to need a huge bailout from their government, and Chinese government doesn't usually do that. I don't know if it's possible for these other places with housing bubbles like USA to be significantly impacted when the Chinese bubble bursts.

I'm not an economist or even pretend to be one on the internet, but i'll try my best
I agree with your overall point that inflation is not a creation of the Biden administration.
I disagree with the agenda Cleverness shoehorns into every discussion about covid being no big deal and the world at large overreacted.
I agree with the op that the public doesn't have confidence in Joe Biden to lead us into a healthier economy with his long term proposals.
I do not agree with the op's underlying motives for this thread: Trump > Biden.
Biden doesn't have the drastic option of raising interest rates to reduce the money supply even if he wanted to commit political suicide. It would put a sharp halt to job growth.
People like Joe Mansion are reluctant to do anything because his primary concern is his own political future. Shying away from long term proposals even if they're supposed to help because that wouldn't show any immediate positive impact to voters. These politicians that are paralyzed by a fear of action are as big of a problem as the ones who obediently follow the party lines.
I'm single, no kids with a job that pays enough to live on. I can absorb the hit of inflation. Not rich by any stretch of the imagination, but there are many people less fortunate than I am. The poorest Americans are faced with the choice of accumulating debt or do without essentials. A disruption to the supply chain is something I can wait out, but many cannot...including small businesses trying to stay price competitive. That's where I am critical of Joe Biden.
In my opinion, Biden's best move would be distancing himself from the vaccine. He's done what he set out to do. It's time to being the country back together where there are no mandates on who can spend in places like restaurants. If the consumer spending was spread around on more services like haircuts, vacations, theme parks, and stuff like that it could lower the demand for spending on a particular good like groceries.
If I'm being completely honest, the narrative on Afghanistan left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't care what situation was inherited. If you're a leader then lead or gtfo. Don't tell me it turned out poorly because it was the best of a bad situation.

I remember you from your Jordan dream team avatar always dropping a clever one or 2 liner into a thread that never failed to make me laugh.
The last year or whatever really feels like it sucked a lot of that fun out of you. I guess I started to notice that shift in your posting into more serious and frustrated with the landscape of American politics. It's also likely I'm just a dickhead. The politics subforum brings the parts i least like about myself to the surface. It's why I try to remember that i came here to talk basketball and spend more time in the nba forum. I should have taken a different approach than jumping on you from the first reply. I apologize

no worries whatsoever dude. believe it or not, everyone constantly jumping at each other's throat here is what keeps this forum active, entertaining and uninhibited. i hear you about what the madness can do to your psyche though... because in the case of politics, ignorance is bliss. those cable news sheep that we always like to poke fun at don't have to bear the burden of knowing all of the bullshit that goes on behind the scenes in washington like we do. personally, i liked it better when i was still one of them cheering on barack just because of his charisma and speaking ability.
thanks for your two cents on biden and the current economic situation. i'm always interested in listening to people's opinions as long as it's honest and not cliche mainstream talking point shit from either side of the spectrum.

Actually on topic - if more people were working (get the far right wingers a job) the economy would be fine.
Get back to work proud boys.
