He was projected to go in the middle of 2nd round. The Lakers told him that he had a 2 way contract waiting for him should he go undrafted. There was interest, the Pistons for sure wanted to take him at 52, but he let teams know he'd prefer to take his chances with the Lakers. Since he had interest to play for another team, GMs chose to take other players who would be happy where they were at.

I have lots of faith in Jesse Buss talent evaluation. He's the best scout in the NBA by far IMO.

Lakers are great at scouting out youngsters coming out of college.

I'm not too sure about scouting mid-season cuts & freeagents though lol. But that might concern politics. There is no politics involved or any other bs with draft picks. Nobody like Lebron or Pelinka will ever get in the middle of draft picks because there is no reputation or other bs to go off of. It's straight-up talent and probably personality/character.

He's nothing like caruso. Caruso to me is a great athletic defensive minded combo guard with good IQ.

Reaves was a 20ppg scorer in college and is a true SG that can make the extra pass. He's got a better handle and can score at all 3 levels.
