What do the Pels do? Even if he doesn’t play his name and potential alone will bring in revenue. Thoughts?

100% will get a super max.
No known locker room trouble
Will be 23 so youth on his side
When he's played he's consistently a 25 9 and 3 threat

They need to sell tickets so I think they will keep him but right now I would let the league know he was available for the right price of my only concern was winning. He is a major plus when he's out there but at this point I don't see a long healthy career happening. Hope i'm wrong butI'm sure they could get great returns for him. Find a crap team and trade him for 5 unprotected lottery picks. Or at least 3 such picks and the right to trade picks on the alternating year.

A 100% super max on what? His waste size?

6’6” and 330
He won’t get anything like a Supermax offer lol.
He might get an offer from an NFL squad who needs a Vince Wilfork gap filler.

I'd offer him the post-injury Steph discount extension. Maybe around $20M per year.

Based on how team's factor in a player's injury history when they look to add players, I'm guessing his weight issue won't be any issue whatsoever to what his contract would've been fit and healthy. And if by some miracle the Pelicans don't give him the super max, there will be plenty of teams lining up to pay him as much as they are eligible to pay him.

His career averages and box office appeal. I wouldn't want to max him but there is no way he settles for less. Especially not from that franchise but even on a great franchise he should leave if they don't offer him the money because he can get it from somewhere no question.
Part of why I would trade him.

I think this is a really interesting situation. Zion, when healthy, is absolutely worth the max. He was arguably an all-nba performer last year.
But something is bothering me with Zion. What made Zion "generational" coming into the draft was his DEFENSE!! He's basically a replacement level defender, and there is hardly any effort put in on that end of the court.
Again, I still think the Pelicans will offer him the max if he plays at all this year & shows no ill-effects from his foot injury.
