.. and admits he's the lesser player...

durant tried winning with Westbrook for 8 years before ditching him for an easier situation

if lebron gives up after a few months he's basically admitting Durant is better

because Durant didn't have an anthony davis as his 3rd guy and almost took out the 2016 warriors

this laker team can barely take out bottom feeders

and lebrons playing as well as ever so you can't say he's old.

so both Durant and lebron are quitters. both lebron and Durant are ring chasers. both lebron and Durant are colluders and both can't win with Westbrook

but Durant did more with Westbrook. and Durant owned lebron head to head in the finals individually

so durants the better player all time in a vacuum. prime for prime Durant is above lebron. lucky for lebron a lot of what goes into rankings is accolades so people will forever mistakenly put roid ahead

Forget even the LeBron aspect, fine, Durant > LeBron, do you legitimately believe players play at the same level throughout their careers? That this is the same Westbrook Durant played with 6 seasons ago, the same guy who won MVP and led the league in scoring the year after Durant left.

6 years is an eternity in sports, esp comparing a players level of play from age 27 to 33. Do you believe Shaq was the same player in 2006 that he was in 2000. Or Wade was in 2015 compared to 2009. Or McGrady in 2009 compared to 2003. I could name countless other examples.

With all that in mind, what makes you think this is a legitimate way to evaluate players?

You know damn well LeBron could never win with westbrook. :oldlol: its an ultimate basketball retardation. Klay and curry have half the physical talent but 10x the basketball skill capable of 70+ wins based on that and the teamwork based style they promote. Durant fits anywhere too and golden state proves that.

He was unquestionably better from 2011-2017 than he is now. For all his faults, Westbrook actually played really well in 2017.

You're just trying to defend all the Westbrooking that Lebron does, like when he was given props for going 6 games in 2015 while playing exactly like Westbrook... Lebron has enjoyed this double standard for his entire career - when he loses, somehow it isn't westbrooking despite the ball-domination, turnovers and poor jumpshooting

LeBron & Westbrook is as bad a pairing of MVP caliber players as you could have. And the problem isn’t that Durant never won with Westbrook, it’s that he’d individually be either extremely pedestrian or underperform for his standards in the playoffs (with the exception of 2012) on OKC.

Reggie Jackson had to rescue him from having an ‘07 Dirk level embarrassment in the first round in 2014, before not even outplaying Westbrook in the conference finals. Then in 2016 it was all set up for him to beat the 73 win Warriors, and he absolutely shits the bed at home in Game 6. Sorry, KD doesn’t get a pass for OKC not winning a title in most of those seasons.

He did shit the bed in 2016 but literally every superstar has a bad series aside from MJ. Was 2016 KD worse than 2004 Kobe or 2011 LeBron or tragic Johnson etc.? Fact is Westbrook is a low IQ aau style player. Only way you win with him is with some extreme lucky breaks. Anybody can win with the right circumstances but with that guy you'd need the stars to align because he plays retarded basketball. Like a bastardized version of LeBron. :lol

I completely agree he’s an extremely flawed player who literally has the worst end of game IQ I’ve ever seen outside of JR Smith. But 2014 wasn’t outside the realm of possibility, if Durant plays better the Thunder could have potentially won the conference, with a Miami team ripe for the picking waiting in the Finals. And as you agreed with earlier 2016 was right there for him too. So for all of Westbrook’s flaws and the asinine things he does on the court, he and the Thunder put Durant in a position for some very manageable title opportunities, and he failed to answer the bell for most of them. So imo, it’s not fair for Westbrook to get the majority of the blame, a good portion falls on KD too.

I want LeBron to try to make it work with Westbrick for the rest of their careers.
Ensuring mutual frustrating failure.
And lots of legacy-damaging excuses.

I would also like to see Westbrick live during a huddle, loudly object to the smart common sense advice of Bran, and live on TV, they physically FIGHT. LeBron beating Westbrick crippled, live on TV, would be such perfect violent poetry.

He literally wasn't even all-NBA 3rd team last season whereas he was all-NBA 2nd team the season when the 2012 finals took place, including being the all-NBA 2nd team the season prior AND after 2012. He hasn't been all-NBA 2nd team since 2017-18.

Hell, Westbrook wasn't even an all-star last season.

lol indeed
