LeBron did this to Curry in the play-ins at the age of 36 and sent Curry to lose to Ja Morant despite having Draymond, Wiggins and Poole having a better game than any teammate Ja had.
But I would be worried about what is happening with Curry right about now. He has shot above .421 just once in his last 8 games, a streak which included 6-20, 7-28 and 4-21 shooting nights. If this isn't just a slump and is a sign of something permanent, then he's declining way quicker than I thought he would be.

Curry's elite jumpshooting skill has the best teammate fits and allows the best strategy (ball movement), so his teams have the highest ceilings with the least help.. He did this in 2015 too when Klay/Dray weren't all-stars heading into that season.
People don't realize that Curry can control the game MORE by letting teammatres start the possession with the ball and then closing as many possessions as needed - this elevates teammates more than telling them to stand in the corner (ball-domination), while also "saving" them whenever needed as the "closer" of possessions.. This is the optimal way to play and guys that combine their on-ball and off-ball game like this have the highest team ceilngs/Finals records (Curry, MJ, Bird, Kobe, Dirk, Kawhi, etc).. However, notice that all these guys have elite jumpshooting skill on either threes or two's, which is required to be a good off-ball player.

Klay doesn't turn this borderline playoff team into a 73-win team, so it was just the strategy edge that the league caught up to.
The 16' Warriors style is now the league standard
So Curry is just a 3-point shooter that benefits from the format and the 16' Warriors weren't that good - they just had a short-lived strategy edge and needed KD to actually win
Btw, don't pretend the other pieces like Harrison Barnes were the difference.. system bums like Dray and other role players thrived under the new strategy advantage but now look bummy without the strategy edge

I honestly don't even know if 3ball is mentally ill or if he's just a troll. He literally contradicted himself in like 5 minutes about 3 point shooters :lol

Once I settled on official top 10 criteria (which everyone should do), I realized that Curry qualified:
Top 10 critieria:
1. No one that planned their destination is allowed - no one that learned how to team-hop - only guys that learned how to WIN (organic)
2. Players are highly-valued in the rankings if they won without equal-scoring partners to attract equal defensive attention, and therefore defeated maximum defensive attention (full burden), aka carry-job (10 ppg more than sidekick in Playoffs and Finals).
3. Rigid styles/skillsets are downgraded like 1-dimensional centers or ball-dominators, since they need super-team help and have weaker team ceilings/Finals records

Because curry and draymond are a modern day Jordan and pippen.
They have never lost in a playoff series since 2015 besides one year against kawhi in 2019.

He relies on today's high-screen, drive-and-kick strategy.
This strategy allows 3-point shooters to stand and wait for kickouts, thus adding to the attempts they get off-the-dribble or off screens - if Curry had to run off screens with a defender stuck to him like Reggie Miller had to do, he would barely get off 5 theees a game..
Curry actually took 5 threes a game for 3 straight years and was a 19 ppg scorer, but then the league strategy became the aforementioned 3-point contest, which allowed Curry's production to reach elite levels.
Ultimately, he's just a 3-point shooter, so he's 1-dimensional.

Not really impressive given that the criteria constantly changes to ensure this. Like you're entire way of analyzing basketball revolves around taking Lebron down. Good on you for being passionate but it's a drop in the ocean bud.

there was never any criteria - he's always been a spotty-shooting ball-dominator and more of a robot than a pure scorer so I always knew he would fall far short of Jordan's performance or winning
And yes, I've reveled in it the entire time.. It's quite entertaining to predict the future and then watch it unfold.

you're comparing Curry to MJ? lmfao
Curry's a great regular season player. but in no way, shape or form is he a "modern day MJ"

Apparently the mighty king kong never became aware of that secret until now. But hey, at least he's won twice against iguodala in the finals you know.

He has yet to win a finals mvp before he gets into that conversation.
