What if the opponent's offense was weakened so the Lakers didn't have to play as good defense?... Wouldn't that help?.. Unfortunately, ball-dominance lets the defense rest, so they have more capacity to go off offensively (requiring better defense), while ball movement wears out teams and wins the attrition battle (requiring less defense).

Btw, Lebron's team supposedly lost because of bad defense to the 09' Magic, 11' Mavs, 14' Spurs and 17' Warriors - so everyone goes off on Bron-ball... - it loses the attrition battle.. The best defense is a good offense, a tenet of all competition and ball-dominance doesn't win the attrition battle like ball movement does.

Do you guys think that Lebron's 36 points wasn't impactful but his 36 in years past was?

Isn't that dumb and doesn't that mean there's a better explanation?

He's never been able to carry teams because his 07' run was matched by other 1-star teams (Iverson, Dwight, Kidd), while he had a strong 2-star team in 18' (best 2nd option in conference).. Mo's spacing effect added 21 wins in 2009, which was a lesser carry-job than Dirk's 67 win Mavs in 07' (in the West)
