It is like the Flu in the sense that they are both respiratory infections. Hopefully Covid does not mutate into a more deadly variant like the Flu of 1918 that killed 1/5 of the people on earth. At that time they didn't even know what the flu was, and the first wave did not affect young people, the 2nd wave killed more younger people than older people.
Covid is clearly more infectious than the flu but ultimately I think we will learn to live with it like the flu in the future.

I had it last year before the vaccines hit it was much more nasty back then, I was fortunate to recover but it took a couple of weeks and I am in very good shape.

The Omicron variant is supposed to be much, much more transmissible than the Delta variant. But up to 96% less severe. It's supposed to be even less severe than even the regular flu on a typical year. Models show 50-60% of the US will be infected by March. Masks or no masks. Vaccine or no vaccine. So unless another deadly variant looks like it's going to take hold, it's time to get on with our lives like normal and let it run it's course like the regular flu.

The mandates now are simply a flex by politicians to let you know how much power they have. History will not look kindly on those elites in society that insist on heavy handed measures against our population.

Well it absolutely is for certain groups. For athletes it's no different than the flu. For children it's no different than the flu. For healthy people in general it's no different than the flu. For the most part covid is only significantly worse than the flu for old people and people who are immune compromised.
