Westbrook had a good career all things considered, but it's become fairly obvious it's time to hang it up.

I'm actually a fan of Westbrook. However, he's gotta go. Lakers have to find a way to get rid of him. He can't hit a 3 if his life depended on it, and he's a turnover machine. I like Westbrook and his give 100% mentality, but he's more of a problem than an answer. A huge problem.

Westbrook is a better floor-raiser but Mills is a better ceiling raiser. Westbrook's solid ballhandling and court vision can lead a passable offense but on a really good team you probably have another guy who is even better at facilitating (ex. Lebron) at which point Westbrook doesn't bring much value because he can't really shoot, contribute much on defense etc. Meanwhile Mills is a perfect addition even more so on good team where he can play off of stars and bring a ton of value knocking down shots.

I do think players with high BBIQ, good shooting and some level of calmness such as Conley and Jrue are better suited for a playoff environment than a guy like Westbrook. Did KD have flaws? Of course, but i still think those guys would have been an upgrade over Westbrook. Westbrook was easily the best player in the regular season among those 3 and he did have the highest ceiling but he could lose a series single handedly also. He can keep making same type of turnovers and mistakes over and over. Those guys are more reliable and better for chemistry of the team. Kyle Lowry is another example.
