View Full Version : Is there any team where getting Russell Westbrook makes sense, aside from this?

A team that is in rebuild mode and actually wants to tank for a poor record in order to get high picks in the draft, yet that team still wants to make as much money as possible from ticket sales/merch/etc...

Such a team is an ideal fit for Westbrook, and would be a win-win-win situation.

Win for the Lakers, because they get to trade him for someone who can only improve them.
Win for the tanking team because they could still tank freely without being hit too hard in attendance.
Win for Westbrook himself, because he would be able to stat-pad his triple-doubles as much as he wants.

Aside from this, is there any team that actually wants to be better where Westbrook would be good?

You seriously think that he would make the Clippers better?

He sucks so bad that I genuinely feel sorry for him, and I feel bad when I make fun of him. The same way as if I was making fun of a person with Down Syndrome.

I mean he had many years as a star and will make the HOF, he had a better career than 99.9% of NBA players ever will. He will be out of the league soon though.

Plus One Clippers Pick to Lakers

I feel this one

1 - OKC sells tickets
2 - They Keep tanking
3 - Russ finishes his career and retires in OKC as the best player there.
4 - Clippers future pick be worthless since they are a playoff team with Kawhi/George. But helps.

Favors gives us a center too. Since Jordan sucks.

He's harder to move than ever before. Pistons are a dumb enough franchise but just got Cade. Orlando is too and now they have Cole Anthony. Kings are loaded with guards. OKC and Houston have already had their turn with Westbrook. Turner and Sabonis for Indy are worth way more. That doesn't leave too many foolish franchises/franchises that are thinking of going nuclear on a rebuild.

It makes the most sense for the 76ers because you'll give Embiid another option and you are going to have salary cap flexibility with Harris and Westbrook's contracts coming up in subsequent years.

I think the Lakers will need to suck it up and deal with Westbrook this season. They will be able to move Westbrook when he enters his final year of contract as an expiring contract. 45mill expiring contract is valuable for a team trying to shed salary. Okc/Houston are both possible Sacramento too if they want to dump multi-year contracts.

So, Westbrook for Ben Simmons straight up? I'll take it. Lakers should make this deal ASAP!
