In the history of the league, who are some of the worst one time All-Stars?

Here's a list of players I came up with
BJ Armstrong
James Donaldson
Chris Gatling
Tyrone Hill
Steve Johnson
Mehmet Okur
Kyle Korver
Jamaal Magloire
Chris Kaman

JD made the All Star team for the 1988 Mavs. He put up 7 points and 9 rebounds per game. On the same team with better numbers were Derek Harper, Sam Perkins and Roy Tarpley. Aguirre and Rolondo were the other All-Stars for Dallas that season.

Career wise or for that one year?

Big center on a very good Dallas Mavericks team. High FG% low usage, mostly there for shot blocking and rebounding.

They kind of both go hand in hand, don't you think?

That's a tough one. They're all pretty mediocre.

had to take 3 centers and he may have deserved it based on that. Eaton same thing. Guy sucked but probably actually deserved his nod because of that rule

Just one reserve center, the others are wildcards. The Year Eaton made the game, there were 4 West centers selected. Hakeem, Kareem and Kevin Duckworth were the other three.

1990 All Stars only featured two centers, Ewing and Parish East and Hakeem and Robinson West.

Just checked, he was actually a replacement for another selection I picked, Steve Johnson. Interesting, he played 43 games that season avg 15 and 5 for a center.

Korver is one of the best shooters of all time, if he played in today’s era he’d have multiple all star selections and be a starter on a perennial contender. I nominate Devin Harris, career was journeyman tier player

Calls Devin Harris a journeyman yet Kyle Korver played on more teams then he did.

Pascal siakam and Josh Howard.

I was comparing these two during raptors title run and raptors fans tried telling me I was dumb. So far I was correct

Without even looking at the OP Jamaal Magloire was the first name to come to mind when I saw the thread title.

What’s the agenda for Josh Howard? His prime was short but he was a very solid player.

It would be Kevin Duckworth but he somehow made it twice.

John Starks.

My answer is Lionel Hollins

Years Played: 1975-85

All-Star Year: 1977-78

Career Per-Game Stats: 11.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.6 steals, 0.3 blocks, 13.0 PER

All-Star Year Per-Game Stats: 15.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.9 steals, 0.4 blocks, 14.3 PER

If you saw that a player dropped 15.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game with a below-average PER,

I think Korver and Teague both made it that year Atlanta was #1 seed.

John Starks.
Starks made his only All-Star appearance in 1994. There were 8 other 1 time All-Star and 7 of them were on the East.

John Starks
Charles Oakley
Derrick Coleman
Kenny Anderson
Horace Grant
BJ Armstrong
Mookie Blaylock
Clifford Robinson

Sounds like pretty bad for an all star.

Sounds like pretty bad for an all star.
For the West the center position seemed pretty bad outside Hakeem and old Kareem. Pre Robinson and Mutombo.
Sampson was already done by 88.
