Love Pitbulls. I have one. They are alphas. Best to own just one unless you get them while they are puppies. When my pit gets frisky, I like to push her buttons by pulling on her paws and grabbing her neck and she'll try to bite me, but it's a playful bite. So no matter what, she knows that she is not allowed to fight or bite hard. I have two other dogs as well and they play a lot rougher, but at the end of the day, no one fights as I provide a loving environment for them, and I established that I'm the Alpha above all other Alpha's in the room.

It's not their fault. It's what being oppressed causes them to do. If they grew up in a good home they'd be just as friendly as Golden Retrievers

Not sure if sarcasm, but that's quite right actually. Anyone who says otherwise has never been around one or is some pussified loser who watches Worldstar in their spare time.
This topic is made every other month it feels like and the only one who has shown he has a dick and a brain in these threads is Chewing.

Yeah you sound like a responsible pet owner. If every pit owner was like you pits wouldn't be perceived the way they are.

Appreciate it fellas.
People that say an entire breed of dog should be euthanized and eradicated strike me as psychopaths just for going to that extreme.

I live in a good neighborhood where there are no pitbulls.

Demeanor and physical makeup are 2 different things.

They shouldn't be euthanized. They should stop breeding them.
Fact is they attract more shitheads than any other breed.

Euthanize the entire population of dog fighting rings in the South.

In most cases, altho more outliers for aggression would pop up among pits than retrievers. And vice versa if they were both raised in an aggressive environment. Most individuals from both breeds would end up aggressive, but outliers for chillness would be more common in retrievers.
I dont have much opinion on the pitbull debate specifically, just commenting on the general nature-nurture concept. Nature tends to set the floor and ceiling for a given species, while nurture influences where on the spectrum they end up.

Is a pitbull a good family dog?

An affectionate companion and family dog. Lively, with a friendly personality. People-oriented and eager to please. Intelligent, friendly, and easily won over.
This is what comes out when I googled 'pitbulls'.
