I'd give him a 5. It's been mediocre at best overall. Pretty sure this is calculated on his part. At his age and size i don't think he has the stamina to play elite basketball on both ends consistently so he rests on defense to save energy for offense qnd save his legs foe the post season.

Personally i have no problems with this. He put his work in defensively for enough years that i'm fine if he needs to take defensive plays off in the twilight of his career. He's earned that right imo.

Bron and lakers front office just need to acknowledge this and put better defenders around bron to make up for his mediocre defense kind of like the warriors have done with steph throughout his career.

I think you're being generous. He spends way too many minutes being completely lazy on D, and it's cost the Lakers some wins. He has flashes of defense, so he clearly could still be a good defender if he wanted to put the energy into it.

LeBron was #3 in the league in DRPM and had a Diff% of -4.3. This was the season when he was shutting down Kawhi and Giannis in back to back games in the clutch and whenever he was defending them. LeBron was easily elite defensively in '20. That's not my opinion. That's a fact. There's literally footage and a shit ton of stats to prove my point as well.
