DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine are the second pair of
@chicagobulls
teammates with 30+ points and 9+ assists in the same game.

The first was Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen on March 31, 1991.

Just goes to show how limited the talent was back then compared to now. Derozan and Lavine would have won at least 7 in a row since they aren't mentally weak (Jordans own words) and wouldn't have quit after 3.

Lavine's game is actually very similar to Jordan in his first 2-3 years in the NBA before he started to put on weight and got stronger. Back when he was super quick.

Yeah i've said the same thing. He's basically a young mj except mj had way bigger hands and was stronger.

DeRozan and Lavine are equal-scoring partners that attract equal defensive attention, so neither guy faces maximum defensive attention/burden.

Otoh, there's never been a bigger statistical gap between 1st and 2nd option than MJ and Pippen, so MJ was always facing max defensive attention.. Pippen wasn't a good scorer like DeRozan or Lavine - he averaged half of MJ with lower apg.

Offensively, I think you're right. Jordan was a maniac on defense though.
