Jerami Grant is still injured. Out with a thumb injury

The bigger question is whether they can even attempt to get rid of Westbrick without getting this reaction from another team's GM:

So? If he was healthy why would the pistons do it?

That would be a terrible trade for the Pistons. And do the Lakers even have any 1st round picks left to trade?

This is a good trade for Detroit and the Lakers, ****umean? Pistons get a first, young player with potential and solid young reserve guard (Killian Hayes has been worse than you could imagine). Three young players that can get better for the price of one fringe all star that is 27 and not good enough to raise the team’s floor now or ceiling later.

Do it

I'm 100% sure the tanking Pistons are ready to move on from Grant. He won't be there if/when they ever get good again and I'm sure they wanna give the keys to Cade and whoever else they draft(ed).

Why would the Lakers do this trade? Grant is a horrendous shooter and questionable offensive player. Why not try for turner instead??

THT can't shoot but can attack the basket good. That's all he'll ever be

He has 2 39% 3P years and was a 20+ ppg scorer last year...

You basketball knowledge appears to be on par with your political knowledge.

Pacers won't go into luxury tax, so what are the Lakers offering? Zero chance Pacers take Westbrook.

When he retires and the manufactured hype dies down a bit - the rose coloured glasses will come off and people will remember him for what he was.

If he's demanding his respect now, imagine what it will be like in 10 years lmao

No doubt he will be paying large amounts of money to networks, to try and stay relevant, but there's only so much that will help

Sorry LeEgo, your career has been a fraud and we see it...we don't need mental gymnastics and lack of context....we use facts

And this is how you try to sell a shitty trade offer

The pistons get nothing except two average at best role players and a bad pick.

He is a good scorer and legit #3 option, but we have solid offense already. His shooting has been brutal the last couple of years while he averaged high-volume shooting. He shot in high-30s fg% on low-volume shooting before he averaged 20pt/game. The advantage of being #1 option in a dumpster fire in Detroit.

What we lack is defense (wing & post), reliable 3pt shooting, and too many turnovers. I don't know much about Grant, but can he facilitate for short periods when LeBron is resting? How is his defense?

THT, Nunn, Ellington, and future 1st works. I think THT can't be traded until January 15. https://www.si.com/nba/lakers/news/multiple-teams-interested-in-talen-horton-tucker-ak1987

He's an excellent defender and can guard multiple positions. That's one of the reasons he was so valuable in Denver. In Detroit he got to prove he could score too. I think he's better than Aaron Gordon, who is who replaced his spot on the Nuggets. Just not sure why Detroit would take that deal when they certainly can get better offers. Seems like the Phoenix rumors were a better offer off the top of my head. Just not sure how they could pull it off long term cap wise. He made the Olympic team. I think he'd be a great #3 option on a legit contender. Decent #2 option. If the Pistons had a better record he'd likely get into the all-star game but that team is way too young. Lebron, AD, and Grant would be a nightmare for any team to match up with though.

That trade from the Lakers perspective is a no brainer.

I guess the definition of “works” is will it help the lakers?

Getting Grant doesn’t do that much if you don’t get rid of the actual problem (Westbrook).
