What happened to all of the Movies??

Cobra Kai is a good show, but why are all the movies out there, so bad these days?? It's been this way for quite some time. The Matrix, Terminator, and Star Wars all went to shit. I have nothing against transgender, but why does that have to be an emphasis for all the movies? They did the same thing in Last of Us 2.

I think theres a lot of reasons movies suck now -

- streaming services replacing the old model for movies (theatres and film rentals)

- huge exodus of money and talent out of movies and into shows and streaming services

- many studios seem to be desperately attempting (and failing) to copy the insane financial success of Marvel with their own franchises and reboots, instead of just making quality standalone films

- many studios are making the promotion of hollow woke politics the top priority for their films, which results in hollow, predictable, contrived and flat-out boring scripts that nobody enjoys (not even rabidly woke people)

- the overall writing quality has never really recovered from the 2008 writers strike

probably forgetting some more reasons

TV just became way better. One season is longer than a multiple movies combined. It's nice to be able to follow a long storyline that continually keeps you on the edge. Even if you go back and rewatch a show, it seems like there is so much to be reminded of that you kind of forgot about and tons of things you overlooked entirely. Movies have a basic storyline and is wrapped up quickly, mostly just visually appealing action.

Rock was the highest paid movie actor and even he decided to do Ballers and Young Rock. Woody Harrelson and Colin Ferrel went to True Detective. Zack Galifankis went to Baskets.

Also with streaming now, it's easier for people to watch a show whenever they want or can binge a show without waiting week to week hoping the remembered to record it on their DVR.

I'm a TV junky. Other than Kickass 1 and 2, Maze Runner trilogy and Tom Holland Spiderman, I've barely seen any movies made over the past decade, especially the past 5 years.

I did see Queenpins recently I think it was called because I like Kristen Bell. I saw Sex Ed this year because I saw Haley Joel Osman on the cover. And I saw Good Boys I think it was called, because it seemed like Superbad but with kids. --- I couldn't tell you the last newer movie I saw before those.

The idea that white men have no culture is beyond absurd - look at all of historys greatest playwrights, look at all of the greatest film directors/producers, look at all of the greatest composers and musicians, look at all the greatest writers and philosophers, look at all of the greatest painters and sculptors, look at the greatest works of architecture... sure there have been great works of art created by women and nonwhite men, but theres no question that white men have created more great works of art and culture than any other group of people on this planet... no other group of people is remotely comparable in their achievements.

In some ways I can see why libtards hate white men so much. The fact that so many of modern civilizations greatest achievements can be attributed to this one group of people, while so many other groups of people have achieved so little in comparison, undoubtedly envokes a deep sense of unfairness in the average libtard brain.

Its funny how every group of people on this planet is allowed to feel and celebrate pride for their heritage, except for white people... for some reason its racist for white people to be proud that their ancestors conquered almost every corner of this planet, and created this worlds greatest works of art and the dominant culture on the planet as well.

Everything has it's peak, even art, ain't no one around today composing classical music like Beethoven, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi etc did literally hundreds of years ago. Rock music peaked in the late 60s on towards part of the 80s, it's shit now. Mayhaps cinema peaked too? Where are the young directors taking over for the Kubricks, Scorseses, Coppolas, Malicks etc as these dudes start to die out? Of course there are a few talented young directors but no doubt movies in general are worse than they were 2 or 3 decades ago...

In this country, it is frowned upon for any male with western european heritage to be proud of that heritage, doesnt matter if they're from Ireland or Italy or wherever else, and may god have mercy on anyone who says they're proud to be white or european - yet nobody will bat an eye if someone says they're proud to be "asian american", or proud to be "latinx" (lol)... and did you forget to mention african americans in this post or do they not fit your stupid narrative? :oldlol:

For the record I am not saying that white people are superior to other people in any way, and I certainly do not think that... I am simply pointing out that whites/europeans have made many great accomplishments in the modern world, and that white people dont need to feel guilty for the sins or accomplishments of their ancestors. The exact same is true for everyone else on the planet btw - The descendents of the ancient indo-aryans who lived in Persia (the area around modern Iran) and India should feel great pride for the fact that their peoples were among the first to build large civilizations, and for the mind blowing "temples" and stone works their ancestors left behind (like Kailash temple and Persepolis). The descendents of ancient Chinese should feel tremendous pride about being from (arguably) the oldest continuing civilization on this earth, and for their great achievements like the Great Wall. The descendents of the Maya/Inca people should feel great pride for the astronomical and mathematical sophistication of their ancestors, as well as the amazing stone cities they left behind (like Teotihuacan and Machu Pichu).

Anyway, every person on this planet has a reason to feel pride for their ancestors, all I am saying is that its fvcked up that people of European descent are usually shamed for expressing pride in their ancestors while literally every other group of people to ever exist are celebrated for it (in western countries at least).

Instead of getting a Halo movie, we're getting a TV show instead. Instead of more LOTR movies, we're getting a TV show instead. Personally I havent put much stock in the idea of a "best picture" award since they gave it to Hurt Locker and Argo
