I don't like that LeFraud's assisted rate is near 50% this year.
What if this allows the Lakers to eventually find their chemistry when AD comes back?
What if LeFraud wins a ring with an alleged cancer in Westbrook?
What if he gets huge credit for this despite infact being carried by a bevy of HOF's?
What if he defrauds everyone AGAIN?
Btw, Happy New Year everybody

I made this thread after only looking at the stats and seeing his 50% assisted rate - this made me wonder if his higher assisted rate this year could allow the Lakers to eventually find the right chemistry.
But after watching the highlights - I'm no longer concerned - the bum can't take contested jumpers - all his points were transition or open jumpers... AD will still need to be the guy dominating and carrying the load, otherwise it's lottery or 1st Round exit in the West.
The only exception last night was the few times Lebron did a swim-thru move from the triple-threat going right - a very strong move and the only move he seemed to take any kind of contested shot off of.
So he got by last night because Portland was planning their New Year's party rather than competing, and the fact that no one is trying to guard or stop Lebron right now - he's getting a lot of open jumpers that he won't get in the playoffs.. Currently, defenders don't seem to realize that he can't get by anyone anymore, so there's no need to lay off him AT ALL - play him tight and make him pass (because he won't shoot contested jumpers)... And he doesn't go left out of the triple-threat because he has no jab step..
These things will get shored up in the playoffs, and he'll get shut down again.. So again, no longer concerned after watching the highlights (btw holy shit with the mickey mouse spacing, aka dance routine.. not physical or actual basketball).

Oh, and his time of possession was still 6.4 minutes, so he's always a 2nd player on the floor with a point guard hold-time - these 2 point guard lineups give teammates less hold-time and assists than they get in traditional 1 point guard lineups, so the TEAM has low assists and a brand that struggles on the championship level.

If Lebron is hovering around 50% shooting from midrange and 40% from 3pt range as he is now it will be freaking hard to stop him. Because even with diminished athleticism he will start driving if you play him tight. This season is the first time in his career that he legit looks like an elite shooter to me. We'll see if he can keep it up but honestly his form, mechanics, confidence are all spot on. Not to mention Westbrook can just keep creating. Russ is a very good floor general and if he shoots less and passes more that's a good thing and Lebron can just continue to play off of him. Lebron is shooting 46.6% from wide open threes... That's a number Steph Curry would be happy with.
Now will the Lakers as a team be good enough? It depends but with Davis healthy the odds are yes. AD even at 80-90% is still an elite rim protector and gives you an efficient 25 points.

Lebron is master of the lullaby.
You ever play someone in 1-on-1 who can't really score but lulls you to sleep before taking a quick shot?
That's all Lebron's jumpshot is.. It's complete garbage compared to actual jumpshooters like Dirk or MJ.
He lacks the skill, touch or elevation to take contested jumpers - so he has a "flow" scoring jumper and AD will need to be the guy dominating/carrying the load, otherwise it's lottery or 1st Round exit in the West again.
and Bron can't get by ANYONE that is sitting down on him, as seen here (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1-T4TLFS5v8&t=50s) - once defenders catch on that he can't get by nobody, they'll crowd his jumper and effectively lower his volume (because he doesn't take contested jumpers).. Accordingly, I predict low volume for him in this year's playoffs assuming AD is healthy to take the contested shots... We'll see if I'm right.
If AD isn't healthy, then Lebron will lullaby the Lakers into an early off-season

50% is insane. Even 40% is elite
He must of did 2 steroid shots up his ass this season instead of the typical 1 shot

40% isn't elite at all.
50-60% certainly is but not with 6+ minutes hold-time - that shows he's still just dominating the ball like any other point guard.
I'm more amazed at how open all his shots are.. I realize now that Portland mailed it in

anything over 40-45 assist % i feel like you're doing too much and it's practically turned into a 1 man team

He's losing to lottery teams and barely beating a couple of lottery teams
Even with AD...Good teams will shut the fraud down when it matters....he can get his first 3q stats...they're empty

Assist % isn't the same thing as assisted rate
Assisted rate is the percentage of Lebron's field goals that are assisted (where he was the assist target, aka off-ball)...
Frontcourt positions normally have a high assisted rate, so Lebron turns a normally high-assisted position into a low-assisted one, thus lowering the assist capacity of the team.

What Lebron is doing is not sustainable, I'll give you that. But hopefully he won't have to once Davis gets back.

If somehow, by some miracle, LeBron James manages to win a championship this year, he will go down as the G.O.A.T.
-KD ran as fast as he could away from Westbrook.
-No other title contender team even, for a second, considered getting Westbrook.
-AD seemingly lost his drive and is fragile.
-Lakers are the oldest team in the NBA this season.
-Talen Horton-Tucker fell off.
-LeBron has played basically every position on the team this season.
-LeBron is 37 years old.
-And much, much, and much more incredible stats that're too long to write lol.
If he pulls this off, LeBron deserves the G.O.A.T. status. No questions about it.

His peak was never as good.
He has needed collusion and 1-2 all stars every time
Hes failed miserably so often
He will NEVER be the GOAT.
