In fact they have that terrible defensive rating against most top teams. It’s even worse when you break it down to the last 8 minutes in the 4th (160) Jazz are fools gold again

To be fair, Whiteside didn't play and he's their most impactful big. Jazz are definitely looking like fools gold again though. Mitchell can't do it all and who knows if Conley can stay healthy.

That is true but they are still 1-5 vs the top teams. Teams with big lengthy wings feast on them

The defensive rating was still terrible. Glad to see Jazz win the game. Oh wait.
and yet they outplayed the Warriors with Gobert on the floor
But it wasn't enough for them to win the game :(

yep he doesn't play 48 minutes. Never been good without him

Maybe he's just too cumbersome to do it.

Look i love toody as much as the next man, i rarely slander him on here but we all know if he runs into a team with 5 compentent shooters(in the starting lineup) or a team with an elite decision-making guard the jazz are doomed.
They would have to pray they dont play Suns Warriors Lakers Nuggets (healthy) Mavs to make it to the finals... They would literally have to have the perfect road (of avoiding landmines) to make it to the finals... Or covid could strike those teams in the playoffs and they could get a non-legit finals run that no one would respect
I mean like can u seriously imagine rudy trying to guard cp3 coming off screens for a series :oldlol:. He would do him so dirty . I legit think he would start toying with him when they got up 3-1 just to humiliate him for no reason

they were without their 2nd best player. Gobert certainly isn't their problem

There’s a lot of talk right now about what went wrong, but the Jazz had some pretty impressive runs this week, including in Saturday’s loss. They had a 7-minute period in the third quarter where they punked the Warriors to the tune of 30-10. They also dropped the hammer on Friday night with a 22-0 fourth quarter run against the Wolves, they never trailed after an opening 14-2 spurt against Portland, and they put San Antonio away early with first half runs of 21-8 and 15-0. The common denominator in all those runs: Gobert. For the week, the Jazz outscored opponents by 59 points with Gobert on the court, and lost by 33 when he sat. Or in net rating terms: a remarkable +20.9 per 100 possessions with Gobert on the court since Christmas. No other Jazz player is close to that — Mike Conley is next at +12.4, followed by Gay’s +11.4.
where's the best player in franchise history?
