Just asking.

Here's one for example from a completely random player.

I didn't think you could but you posted a video which is quod erat demonstrandum. So I guess you can.

I didn't think it was possible but LeBron did it and since he's the goat the obvious answer is a resounding "Yes."

Next question incel :pimp:

GOATs don't choke away an entire finals series. 2011 removed Brony from GOAT contention for everyone but a few obsessed sack danglers.

yes. it's how you bounce back from failure that defines you. lebron from 2012-2018 > anyone in nba history.

Weird how Bird has 2 of them and it never gets brought up.
Y’all just reinforce Lebron’s goat argument by obsessing over him every day.

And Bird did it in b2b games

Off the top of my head Wilt, Bird, Magic, Russel, and Lebron have all done it or come close and nobody(rational) seems to care. Doesn’t seem to be much of a factor.

And lost FMVP to a rookie.

Its occasionally brought up by stupid people. He had one game with like 12 the same series he had 8 but two of them were blowout wins I believe. And one of them he was damn near dominant just not shooting with a massive lead. I’m talking like a 35 point lead. People don’t care about context.

Larry Bird did it but it was only because the Celtics were blowing the other team out. Its like if a football team pulls its starters in the 3rd because they're up 42-3. And of course Boston won with Bird being their best player. Maxwell winning FMVP was like an iggy or billups award.

LeBron otoh was the sole reason they lost that game and the negative momentum led to 3 straight losses and losing the whole series they were heavy favorites in. His 8 pt game swung the Heat from going up 3-1 to losing 4-2.

You have to apply context.

. People don’t care about context.

you mean like kobes 2 point injury game in the 2000 finals dropping his average from 19 down to 15 and people here acting like kobe was 2006 shaq with a legit BS finals average (13ppg 3rd option 4th quarter bench warmer) which nobody cares about for some reason

Except they didn't "pull Bird." He averaged 43 mpg that series.

Yea and he didn't have to put his foot on the pedal scoring when his team was up by 30. LeBron was in a close game and shit the bed and ultimately the series with that game. Bird was dominating the glass and using his GOAT passing and teammate enhancing abilities to have his team dominate. If he had peak wade instead of Maxwell good lord... It would've been even worse. LeBron otoh shit the bed and they directly lost because of him. Huge difference.

I mean like everyone in every topic. Performances from the past are all just a list of numbers. Even half of us who remember what happened don’t remember what specifically happened in each game.

Its just noise to make points.

Yeah but a whole finals series of choking definitely makes goat status harder.

Just like it was directly Steph's fault that he blew a 3-1 lead and lost in the Finals.

What about if you put that player up against another one that never choked?

For many years you could be GOAT with multiple 5 point Finals games (Bill Russell).
A single 8 point finals game out of 55 career finals games is more than enough to be the GOAT.

Having a 1-9* playoff record prior to one player saving your career?
Finishing lower in the seedings (at the age of 24) than a team whose best player by far and leading scorer by a significant margin was a 22 year-old rookie Chuck Person?

Now those are some perma-stains that disqualify you from GOAThood once and for all.
