The biggest chokejob ever by a superstar.
Along with the 1986-87 season where he averaged 37.1 ppg yet finished below a team whose best player by far was a rookie Chuck Person, the 1995 playoffs are a perfect example of how empty Jordan's stats really were, and how (in addition to Pippen), he needed an all-defensive rebounder in Rodman/Grant to win in a weak era. Look at these averages:
In the 1995 second round he averaged this but lost:
31.0 ppg on .477, 6.5 rpg, 3.7 apg, 2.5 spg and 1.8 bpg
In the 1996 finals he averaged this but won:
27.3 ppg on .415, 5.3 rpg, 4.2 apg, 1.7 spg and 0.2 bpg
Any Jordan extremist have an explanation for why this happened?
