Are they legit? Do you like Chicago's chances to come out of the Eastern Conference? To win it all?

They've got a two-pronged, 1A/1B offensive duo that ranks up there with the best in the league.

They've also got a solid starting center that can space the floor, pass, rebound, and score. How good a defender? I'm not sure.

Caruso and Lonzo are both fantastic roleplayers that can defend to an elite level, pass and make outside shots to space the floor.

What I like about this team is its construction; the talent fits. Its best players can -- and do -- all play together. Apart from that I like the offense and the perimeter defense.

My questions and concerns are about the bench, rebounding, and interior defense/rim protection.

I still feel Milwaukee is the best team when healthy. I think Chicago is a lock to make the 2nd round, but I can't guarantee an Eastern Conference Finals appearance.

They're definitely legit. I think how far they go depends a lot on Vucevic. If they have a noticeable weakness, it's at the center position. Vuc isn't the best paint protector, Patrick Williams is probably out for the year, and they don't have anyone else in the tank. If Vuc can get back to his all star stride, it will help. If the Bulls can get someone like Javale McGee before the trade deadline, they'll be champs.

It takes more than two great players to make it to the Finals and even more to win it all. Otherwise, Boston would be doing a lot better than they currently are.

Basketball is more nuanced and complex than that.

Derozan/Lavine >>>> Tatum/Brown

Derozan and Lavine are arguably the best wing combo in the NBA.

No shit

The Bulls have a lot of nice pieces that all compliment each other

I just don't know if I can agree with that conclusively.

I think as Spurs M8 said, Chicago has fantastic complementary pieces. Everything fits well on the team, while the opposite is true for Boston.

If you switched the two duos around, I think Chicago would be doing similarly well. Who knows, maybe even better? And Boston would be doing just as poorly if not worse.

I don't really like Bulls. They need a good defensive big. If i made ranking for east right now
1.Bucks
2.Heat
3.Nets
4.Bulls
5.Cavs(if Rondo performs better than Rubio they might be unbeatable tbh)
6.Sixers
The rest i dont care

Yeah, the lack of a defensive big is the one thing that worries me.

I don't know...I hope you're right, but Ball being out leaves a big gap in their lineup.

Bulls are my team, so I'd love to see that happen. But Lavine's time to go off was last year, and he was kind of underwhelming.

It felt sooooo real the first half of last year before a few things tanked us in the standings:

1. Lonzo’s vegan diet and it’s levels of inadequate complete-protein for bodily recovery during an 82-game NBA season

2. Caruso suspiciously being held out waaaay too long (like 3x normal Covid protocol).

3. Zach sitting out hurt for a while, and letting DeRozan get some sick solo numbers after the all star break.
