theyre not trading him. they have no reason to. they would just get crap back for simmons. they know they would get more if he was in the last year of his deal cause then it would be an expiring contract and a way to clear space. so they're gonna sit on his contract till someone offers something good. he will be forced to play eventually cause nobody can skip 4 years of basketball and still be the same player
