Warning the first time. 1k the next time and 5k every time after that.

Thats a pretty cheap playoff run. James Harden has spent more than a 28 game playoff run of fines in the strip club. I think he had a jersey literally in the rafters of two Houston clubs for nights he eclipsed that.

The city is gonna up the fine once they realize that’s nothing to nba teams right?

Sounds like a good hustle to make money for the city, I’m with it and I want to see Kyrie play.

They should wait till the ecf then bump the fine to 200K a game and put out a press release saying half the money goes to long term medical bills of 9/11 first responders(who are still sick in cases) and call the Nets out. Would they have the balls to not pay?

Cool... extortion like a true communist.

Gotta love how communists want to steal from capitalists. Disgraceful how UnAmerican and anti freedom the left is.

Nets have 20 home games left for the regular season. That's only 100k in fines.

The fines are extortion in general anyways

If they were actually concerned about Kyrie being unvaccinated why does a fine simply eliminate that fear and threat of Kyrie spreading covid?

Leftists are morons... which should be obvious since a leftist here turned a nba basketball thread into the government extorting an nba basketball team due to his political beliefs.

UnAmerican control freaks that want to control others and steal from others. Narcissists.

It isn't about the money it's about controversy and negative press. If it comes to it I expect they would eat the fine in the Finals.

If that's true, they're 100% playing him throughout the entire playoffs. I agree with the alt above though, how does a fine stop covid? This seems like an idiotic political move.

That fine is a big deal to most businesses, just not major sport leagues. Would not surprise me if they made it what int is figuring that if it became an issue for one of their pro sport teams they could just pay it.

But Kyrie isnt vaxinated. Why are they letting him around the team at all?

Isnt this supposed to be about public health, not just mindlessly following government orders and hoping to find loopholes?

What about the dangers of spreading covid?

Guys?

Wonder if other teams will complain to Silver if Brooklyn went ahead and did this. Breaking a law that's put in place to save lives in midst of a deadly pandemic is not exactly a good look.

It's a stupid law. That is not enough money to deter Mets Nets Yanks etc. and the visiting team is still allowed to play their unvaxxed players. Not sure what the real motivation behind that law was but if it was just to get people to vaccinate then it's dumb.

Its not a law and was never voted on by any legislative body. Its an illegal mandate. And a joke since cases are still blowing up worse than ever post mass vaccination as compared to last year.

Real Men Wear Green

Just saw on NBA Today that an NBA Memo is what gives the mandate teeth. The NBA forbids playing players forbidden to play by local mandates. So they can't just pay the fine and play him after all.

Kyrie can't play in San Francisco either right?
So if the Finals are Nets vs Warriors he's just out of there, lol.
