Malone, Houston and Sprewell are a solid trio. Both Houston and Sprewell averaged 22 ppg and 26 ppg in the nba finals

Malone just beat Duncan the year prior in 98', so he should win with 99' Knicks

Heck, if KD hadn't team-hopped, Malone would have better resume... Ditto Lebron, whose team-hopping gave him accolades over guys like Dirk or Kobe that he otherwise wouldn't have

Eh, I think by 99 Duncan would have clearly outplayed him in a series. Obviously not a sweep but I think the Spurs still win.

98' and 99' Duncan were the same player - Duncan was the most prepared rookie ever

The difference in 99' was Sean Elliott, who was hurt in 98' - he only averaged 12 coming off the injury but he was an all-star caliber player, scorer, shooter, athlete, and goat clutch

In theory. The playoff performances were way different.

He was still a rookie on the big stage for the first time in 98. And Malone was another year older in 99. Both of those factors together tilt things in Duncan's favor in 99. At least head-to-head.

Karl Malone, Stockton, and Hornacek lost to Isaiah Rider and the Blazers in 1999.

They got old - it happens

They beat Hakeem, Shaq and Duncan in 98', and only failed against MJ
