I'd have to look up and see if Kobe's Lakers were the favorite against Dirk's Mavs
and the loss with Shaq is Shaq's fault for not building the team around Kobe from 2002 onwards - that's why they were a mess by 2004 with Shaq declining but still demanding the rock.. if they had built around Kobe earlier on, they would've kept winning because a team built around Kobe won with less in 09' and 10'.

The fact that you have to look that up is hilarious, Lakers were coming off winning back to back championships and had their core of players healthy. Of course they were favorites.

:biggums: Then this just confirms you did not follow the league at the time.
And the rest of your post is absolute bullshit per usual. Kobe led the team in scoring and took significantly more shots than Shaq in '03 & '04, which deviated from their 2000-02 formula when Shaq led the team in scoring and the Lakers 3peated.

Jordan had no 2nd option until 1990, while the Pistons had 3x all-stars at every starting spot (Isiah, Dumars, Laimbeer, Aguirre, and Rodman was 2x all-star).
That's why the Bulls were massive underdogs from 88-90'.. And even in 1990, Pippen's offense had lower scoring, efficiency, PER, BPM, VORP and WS/48 than 09' Mo Williams - in other words, Pippen was just okay by 1990, and infact worse than Mo offensively.. Pippen's 12 on 42% against the 88-90' Bulls is why they were massive underdogs each year, so this doesn't qualify as losing to a 1-star team as the favorite.
Otoh, the all-star duo of Lebron/Zydrunas stole their opponent's sidekick (Hughes) to win their first playoff series as a FAVORED, HIGH SEED in 2006..
So Lebron always had decorated casts and high seeds that were swept, upset or record defeat nearly every year of his career, while Jordan carried inexperienced rookies to near-victory against the dynasty Pistons.. Night and day..
Lebron failed to carry lottery teams (teams that were lottery the prior year) to low seeds in 04', 05' or 19', and infact needed 3 years to develop his team into a high seed before entering the Playoffs in a conference that 1-star teams were winning.. Otoh, Jordan carried lottery teams to low playoff seeds in a conference that required a super-team to win.. Again, night and day..
Ultimately, Lebron lost a ton with top seeds, favorites, Finals teams, and teams with multiple all-star teammates, while Jordan never did.. Jordan almost never lost with just 1 all-star teammate except the historic migraine and the baseball season.

I don't care much about preseason odds like 3ball does... just because you are good on paper doesn't mean you are actually good, but if we use 3ball's logic, Lakers were one of the favorites to win it all in 2005, only behind the Spurs. Lakers only won 34 games that year, what does that say about Kobe?

Aguirre, Laimbeer, Dumars, Isiah and Rodman are all historic players and historic dynasty - Korver and his Hawks don't compare and that's obvious

Indeed, any player that wins that many Finals will see another player get a vote - it's a testament to Pippen's crappiness that it wasn't him getting that vote, and instead a 3 ppg rebounder.. Pippen couldn't get a vote because he's the worst Finals performer of all time, with all 6 of his Finals falling below Horry-caliber gamescore from the 95' Finals - only Pippen failed to meet Horry-caliber over a meaningful sample (0/6).
Heck, guys like Stockton were literally scoring like Jordan in clutch time, while Pippen was an Andre Roberson-level player and one of the last options when it mattered.

It wasn't reported that way for 30 years until you just made that up right now because Jordan's stats dwarf Pippen's in virtually every series, while Jordan always dominated when the game was contested, while Pippen was carried, such as the 1st quarter of Game 3 - Jordan put the game away early and prevented an 0-3 deficit (8 points and 6 assists in 1st quarter, versus 6/0 for Pippen, aka carried during the only contested portion of game).

Pippen was a low-producing bum that you single out 2 quarters from his entire career, which proves my point, not yours
MJ took most of the shots and attracted all the attention because he did the same thing for Woolridge - Woolridge used to score more than Pippen ever did...
But Woolridge didn't get to grow and develop strategy/brand with prime MJ like Pippen did, and Woolridge didn't play with MJ during expansion - that's when the talent was spread around evenly so 2-star teams could win (no more super-team 80's).. Obviously, anyone wins alongside MJ in a 2-star vs 2-star format.

Nothing that occurs as a rookie or sophomore can be a "knock" on someone's career.
If Luka went 6/6 over the next 8 years, would anyone give a shit that he lost in the 1st round a few times after carrying lottery casts to low playoff seeds? (lottery casts are teams that were lottery the prior year)

You're ignoring the fact that 2/3 of teams made the playoffs back in the 80's, Bulls had a losing record in each of MJ's first 3 years, if only half the teams made the playoffs like they do today, MJ wouldn't have sniffed the playoffs until his 4th year, at age 24. :oldlol:

Lebron and Jordan both won similar games in their first couple healthy seasons except Lebron had the East all-star center on his team, which was enough to win that conference, while Jordan had the traveling cocaine circus in a conference that required a super-team to win.

That wasn't a drop in the bucket in the 80's East.
Btw, how did Lebron only win 40 games with the East all-star center in the weakest conference ever?
ultimately, when Jordan had 3 healthy seasons to develop his team (88'), he made the 2nd Round just like 06' Lebron, except Jordan had an undecorated rookie cast in a super-team conference, while lebron had a veteran, high seed in a conference that 1-star teams won all the time

There's levels to this shit... Lebron carried a lottery cast to 9 seed, and then he carried that 9 seed to a 4 seed.. Jordan would've kept building the team similarly if he was younger.. The only 1st option that destroys teams was Pippen, who destroyed a 3-peat dynasty to 2nd Round and borderline lottery in 95' in less than 18 months.

Lebron played with Peak Wade who won finals mvp and got outplayed by Jason Terry. He has peak Anthony Davis, the best player on the 2020 squad and the reason the Lakers did anything as the 2019 Lakers missed the playoffs and 2021 Lakers lost in round 1 when AD wasn't around. He has Prime Melo who won a scoring title and all time leader in scoring for the Olympics. He has Dwight Howard a 3x DPOY and a guy who beat Lebron without HCA. MJ at 40 was losing a 1 on 1 to this guy...

Question for you: Do you think CEO John Rogers was better at any aspect of basketball than Michael Jordan?
Think carefully before you answer, because if you say yes, then you're an obvious idiot. If you say no, then your post is pointless and you're just a troll.
So which is it?

Wow, that's great information. It's almost like Jordan wasn't able to three-peat without Rodman...
Rodman's uselessness is confirmed by several historical events:
1) Jordan 3-peated from 91-93' with a different role player at PF (Horace)
2) Rodman wasn't the starter in the 98' Playoffs and averaged 3/8 for the entire 97' Playoffs
The Bulls were far better with Horace than a liability like Rodman.. The Bulls simply had goat experience and savvy during the 2nd three-peat, so they knew how to win IN SPITE of Rodman..
It added to the team's challenge and closeness to figure out how to win with an outcast like Rodman (MVP Robinson couldn't do shit with Rodman in 95')

Lebron played with Shaq who won league mvp and 3 finals mvp's and lost in round 2. Lebron played with Peak Duncan who had won 2 league mvp's and 3 finals mvp's and won bronze medal. Lebron played with Peak Wade who won finals mvp and got outplayed by Jason Terry. Lebron played with Derrick Rose who won mvp under age 30 which was the same as Kevin Durant who won mvp under 30 while both were on Golden State and Cleveland. Lebron played with mulitple PER leaders as well and now Russell Westbrook a league mvp winner and more triple doubles than Oscar Robertson. Yet despite all of that Lebron lost with all of them.

http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?500416-Why-did-Pelinka-surround-Lebron-with-a-bullshit-roster
He has Westbrook who is the modern day Oscar Robertson and also won league mvp along with average a Triple Double 4 years in a row. He also has Rondo who is a hall of famer.
Why didn't he play it against Dwight Howard in 2009 when Dwight was dominating http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?459570-How-is-it-even-possible-to-lose-to-Dwight-Howard-in-a-series-with-HCA/page10? Or against Duncan or KG or Dirk? Why did he run away from KD a guy at his position?

Difference between Lebron and Tmac?
http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?494830-Difference-between-Lebron-and-Tmac
Both 0-2 with HCA against 50+ win teams until they joined forces with someone who won as the man. Also won bronze medals.
Tmac lost to Utah in 2007 while Lebron was losing to a career loser in Dwight Howard and also Carlos Arroyo in the Olympics with peak Tim Duncan on his squad despite playing more minutes than Hakeem even played on the 1996 Olympic team.

Lebron quit on the Cavs and they burned his jersey and held his family hostage. He also only won 1 title for the franchise that drafted him which is pathetic in 11 years. Imagine someone getting credit when they lose with Shaq and only get to round 2 and they lose with peak Duncan getting bronze medal.
