He thought Malik Monk was still stuck with Sabonis so he wanted to switch to prevent an easy layup.

Makes no effort to initially go after the ball after the Reaves turnover to secure the half-court violation.
Halfway through the play he realizes he messed up and acts like he suddenly gives a damn.
Then as a cherry on a shit sundae he allows the and-one instead of fouling hard and preventing the basket altogether.
This was the play that started LaVert's 4th quarter scoring spree.
