Pisses me off. They should never let this cop have another dog again. And why was he getting so close to the suspect when the guy was swinging a knife? Looked like he was going in for a hug or kiss. :facepalm Draw your damn gun and start blasting away at the guys upper torso the second he made the first plunge into the dog with the knife. Poor dog didn't even know it was doomed until afterwards, he kept attacking the guy like he was trained to.

the cop did nothing wrong and shootings justified. police dogs are cops. if you attack one its assault with a deadly weapon on an officer/attempted murder. the dog would have left some puncture wounds but he woulda lived. shoulda dropped the machete. and how was the cop supposed to know he would try and stab the dog. that's why they have dogs cause them getting ****ed up isn't as bad as a cop getting his head chopped off.
