i've only found a few clips of this dr phil episode on youtube and i usually try to stray away from this trans shit, but i can't disagree with anything matt's arguing for on this subject.

you can dress, act, talk, walk any way you want. you can 'identify' as anything from a tomato plant to a helicopter, but it doesn't change that fact that you're born and remain throughout your life either a male or a female. matt argues basic, simple points like this and apparently traumatized and induced nightmares to the trans folk on the other side of the argument.

being gay is fine, more power to you! but transexualism really is a disease... there's no talking sense with these people.

It's not a disease. It's a mental abnormality. So is being gay. Though there are also hormonal abnormalities in that case(maybe in transgenderism too? I don't know).

Either way there is no rigorous way to draw a line in the sand for what is abnormal vs what is just unique. If you have a weird hobby are you also mentally abnormal? It seems in society we draw a line at the sphere of influence. If you can be accommodated for to an extent that others will tolerate it, then it's acceptable. If your "uniqueness" requires sweeping societal changes it becomes contentious.

Forcing it onto others is harmful children and at some point has to be considered harassment if not outright bullying. It's differently harmful to children forcing them to learn about it and raise them into believing mentally ill peoples delusions. People are letting trans people live their life, but they demand other people be involved and cater to them. They are the ones not letting other live their lives without the need to inject themselves and their values into the lives if everybody else.

It's a mix of nature and nurture. They weren't born wanting to have a sex change operation. Transgenderism on the surface seems like it's about individual liberty but it has insidious societal implications that some are either oblivious to or refuse to acknowledge. This is just the beginning. More and more bizarre behavior is going to be justified in the future as a matter of liberty.
