this is why it's hard to judge lebron all time individually for me. sure his resume is great if you ignore his steroid abuse and ring chasing/collusions/bail outs etc..
but strictly as a player he has 2 versions
1. his athletic monster best driver of the basketball ever and all nba defense with a horrible shot
and
2. his barely mobile on defense can't jump without a line drive path to the basket but a really good outside shooter
both combined would be better than Kobe and mike. but separated neither are better than Kobe and mike cause they actually combined both ends of the floor with all the fundamentals of both offense and defense

It's easy to look like you have a good jumper if you don't take contested jumpers like your peers do (you defer the tough shots to lesser teammates), and if you expend the team's offense to get those open jumpers (50% more hold-time to get the same stats as his peers KD, Giannis, Kawhi, etc)

Defenses are giving him the open shot. They'll live with him scoring 25-30 shooting threes and jumpers while he holds the ball forever and everyone else stands around. The fact that you think this is a good thing just shows your bball iq.

How long does he hold the ball?

That's a very reasonable take.

So much for prematurely dubbing him this season's mvp lmao
