View Full Version : People shouldn't be too hard on Curry - what's happening to him is normal

He will turn 34 in about a month and a half.
Every other player in history, with the notable exception of LeGOATest, has had their stats plummet at this point of their careers.
Him having the worst season since his early 20s is just a consequence of him not having the exceptional combination of athleticism and high basketball IQ that LeBron has, which has allowed him to average 29 on 52% at the age of 37. :applause:

I thought about age being an issue but to me the drop is way too big for that to happen. Also a big bizarro situation is that he is shooting significantly worse on open 3s than contested 3s. Make that make sense.

No one cares about LeBarrys stat padding

Hes officially been exposed.

Though he technically was round 1 last season

Or 2019.

Hes nothing without a 1b

Yeah. It's pretty bizarre. He is also missing easy lay ups too. Like it's his second worse at finishing at the rim in his career.

Damn, I didn't even know he was turning 34 next month. For some reason I thought he was around 32.

If only Curry had the size and could get away with stiffarming his way in the wide open lanes where no one is guarding anyone anymore then he could average more. With curry though, it's not all about stats.

Last night was probably the most midrange shots I've see him take in a game.

His team having a better record then lebrons team? You're right, that is normal. 5 out of last 6 full seasons he played his team had a better record and that 1 season he nearly beat LeBron in the play in despite having Anthony Davis

Yes leading a team that was last in the league just two seasons ago to a top seed despite shooting the worst in your career is normal.

He's on the top team because of Kerr's system, which revolves around every player sacrificing their own game, so that Stephen can get enough screens and motion to function at a high level. There's a reason Curry has never averaged over 24 ppg under anyone other than Kerr.

He had his best season with Luke Walton.

Yeah, I'm sure Luke Walton completely overhauled Steve Kerr's system for those 10 games. Right after that system won them their first ring.

He has been missing plenty of open layups, so not sure what good "getting away with stiffarming" (which he wouldn't have the strength to exploit anyway) would do him.
Also, he's been still getting away with plenty of illegal moving screens his teammates have been setting for him like they have over the past decade, but he's still missing shots.

But again, this is normal for a player his age. It has happened to every other player in history at this point of their careers. Except for one.
