You can barely go a day without hearing someone at the grocery store or at work, etc, talk about how our society runs based on rules/power men have put in place. These same people will talk often minimize if women-ran business or industries are brought up or other dynamics which wouldn't benefit men (ex: men having laws against them in terms of reproduction or court sentence lengths). I had a person tell me today who has a history of abusing his significant other that "this society is messed up because it allows me to do things like this" and then having his partner agree with him instead of pressing charges. Point being, what do yall think?
1) do we live in a society completely shaped by and in favor or men
and
2) if this is the case, should we not prosecute perpetrators because "it's not their fault?"

That may have been slightly the case 30 or 40 years ago... but not today.
women are not oppressed in the USA today... no way & no how... and nobody can convince me otherwise.

If we want to talk about this, we can't talk in broad generalities like that.
What are the specifics that shape this view?
