How do you think Pippen was an all-star

Inflated by the winning spotlight - that's how

And people don't like to think 1 guy can carry a team to an actual title.. So when MJ started winning when everyone said he wouldn't win as scoring champ, they manufactured Pippen to explain how MJ was winning rather than just admit that they were wrong and missed how fundamentally-sound his game was

I mean, it's just the all star game...nothing means anything.

Its where nba and casuals shine

Well...Pippen was leagues better than Wiggins.

No he wasn't- Pippen was a 7 ppg rookie, while Wiggins was a prodigal #1 pick and ROY

If Pippen didn't grow alongside Jordan and played with another team, he'd be like Horace Grant's brother Harvey - no one would know who he is

You're the only person on the planet that doesn't think Pippen is better than Wiggins then. Draft position had nothing to do with on court production and skills.

Pippen was a 7 ppg bench-warmer and Wiggins was a 17 ppg Rookie of the Year

So you're wrong - Wiggins was better, but he didn't play alongside a goat-level organic winner until the last couple years

Kobe was a 7 ppg bench-warmer and LeBron was a 21 ppg Rookie of the Year

Kobe was a 7 ppg bench warmer his rookie year too.

Wiggins clearly better.

Everyone hated Dell Harris for not playing Kobe - Dell himself admitted that he made a mistake not playing kobe

Regardless, the point remains that Wiggins entered the league as bossman ROY, while Pippen was getting bitch-slapped by Oakley and warming the bench

Neither Booker or CP3 could make it. He’s listed as front court so I guess the other options were George(injured), Davis(injured), Draymond, KAT, and Gobert. The players and fans both put him over KAT but the media had KAT higher.

Well deserved, he's been the 2nd best player on the team by far.

You would figure KAT might wanna perform tonight with his ex sidekick making it over him.

Wiggins got this recognition for contributing in carrying chef to a convincing winning record in the first 50 games of the sesson.

Draymond is the 2nd most important player tbh (Warriors are 7-7 without him) but he's missed 14 games so I guess Wiggins might be 2nd overall as he's played more.

It's a stupid All-Star game tbh, people are going apeshit over a game they probably won't watch because who really cares about the ASG at this point..

lets be honest. wiggins is ok but is he more deserving than

- Luka Doncic
- Chris Paul
- Devin Booker
- Rudy Gobert
- Donovan Mitchell
- Karl Towns
- Anthony Edwards
- Deandre Ayton

wiggins averages 67% free throws, averages 2 assists and is now the 4th best player on his own team with klay back

before this year he was a disaster throw away piece. hes had some success as an above average role player but my god. a starting allstar??

I think Golden State just have so many loyal fans. Klay had more votes than Derozan and Mccollum last season despite him not playing for the second straight season.

Most of those guys aren't frontcourt players, and hence not competing for the same spot as Wiggins. Paul George would have taken the spot over Wiggins if he was healthy, but with him out the options were basically Wiggins, KAT or Ayton, none of whom have a very strong case, so Wiggins ended taking it based on the large GSW fan base. Personally I would have picked Ayton over Wiggins, but the fans get to decide, and they choose otherwise.

Please explain why KAT does not have a very strong case? He has All-Star Numbers.

Curry collecting all the hidden medals. Newest in his collection: All-star maker. Rare. Not his first either. He has multiple of them.

Seems like Curry makes his teammates better.

I'm not so sure. The biggest leap that Wiggins has had is on the defensive end.

I think Dray has as much if not more to do with his ascension.

It appears a Korean pop star named Bambam asked his 15 million followers to vote for Wiggins. It may have made the final difference.

Well deserved, he's been the 2nd best player on the team by far.

Wiggins is playing within himself , and not forced to take an alpha roll on the team.
(perfect third option - gets the AS nod)
