View Full Version : Lakers suck mostly because Lebron/AD can't stay healthy

Seems pretty obvious why they suck this year and even last year since these two can't seem to play together ever. They barely played games together since the bubble.

Yeah Westbrook is also super inconsistent and the Lakers are too damn old, but AD/Lebron could still carry this team to a top seed if they were healthy.

Hate to break it to you but they are not the only team that has to deal with injuries to star players. At some point they have to figure it out if not they are just a bad team.

Ever since the AD trade, the Lakers were essentially this:

50% LeBron
30% AD
20% filler

And everything that has been happening to the Lakers ever since they won the championship has been directly connected to this:

This also ruined the other finalist's (Miami) season last year, but they were able to bounce back better because they have a younger team that is more depth-based.

2-star teams like AD/Westbrook or Lebron/Westbrook are supposed to win

It's a huge knock that Lebron is lottery with all-stars like Westbrook, 05' Zydrunas, or Ingram/Kuzma/Rondo

So Lebron is a losing player that failed to win a weak East with homecourt BEFORE the super-teams, and now can't beat the West just like his East Finals runs with super-teams... It all adds up

We thinking that 05 Big Z was a star?

Lottery with all-star teammate = you suck

The all-star duo of Lebron/Zydrunas needed to add a 22/6/5 all-defender acquisition and the future COY to make the 06' Playoffs as a high seed.

So Lebron needed 3 seasons to develop his team into a favored high seed to make 06' Playoffs - he always had high seeds in the playoffs until he went out West

You didn't answer my question.

Also I don't think it's weird for an 18 year old to need 3 seasons to develop a team.

Yup, one guy's getting older and the other one's made of glass. Just hoping we're healthy heading into the playoffs. Probably going to be a play-in team as it stands.

Forget the lottery part for a second...

The point is that Lebron got 3 seasons to develop into a favored high seed before entering the playoffs, so you can't compare 3rd-year high seeds to 1st year 8 seeds.

But that's what 1-9 does - it compares Lebron's veteran, high seeds to Jordan's rookie low seeds.

Lebron avoided carrying his worst teams in the playoffs (04', 05', 19'), while Jordan was forced to carry his low seeds..

Ultimately, once MJ had 3 healthy seasons to develop his team (88'), he made the 2nd Round like 06' Lebron.. The difference is that Jordan carried young low seeds in a conference that required a super-team to win, while Lebron had veteran high seed and homecourt in a conference that 1-star teams won the majority of the time

1) Lebron couldn't win a weak East with homecourt in 09' or 10'

2) Lebron turned preseason favorites into Finals underdogs or losers from 11-16' (except the Ray Allen miracle) - that's the definition of failing the expectation

3) Lebron is lottery-caliber for 3 of 4 seasons out West

^^^ Lebron underachieved the expectation the vast majority of seasons in his career, so this season is standard:

He's a losing player that failed to win a weak East with homecourt BEFORE the super-teams, and now can't beat the West just like his East Finals runs with super-teams... It all adds up

No one can carry this version of Westbrook to a top seed it’s impossible.
