20+ point quarters:
1. Curry 37
2. Kobe 36
3. Harden 25
4. LeBron 24
5. Lillard 21
Just saw this on another site. The Chef after last night's 21 points in the 4th, has the highest 20PT quarters in the last 25+ years of basketball. I'd imagine Jordan and Wilt are probably the two that have Steph beat overall. I doubt more than 3 though. Either way, the Chef is doing it. :applause: Also don't have the data but without the FT disparity, I'd guess Harden likely has at most 5 instead of 25. Was it necessary to slander the bearded fraud? No, but I don't like him. :lol

It's quite pathetic that you would try to hype a guy who has been playing atrocious basketball for nearly 2 months, based on one 40 point game vs. one of the worst teams in basketball.
Sad, honestly.

You have to give it to Wardell, when he's on, he's ON. Just way too inconsistent.

100% agreed. When his team is up 7 or more I’ve never seen a guy be able to increase the lead with an avalanche of scoring like Curry can. But like you said, WAY too prone to having sub 20 point games on atrocious shooting for a player of his caliber.

They don't have scoring stats before 1996?

I don’t think they have complete game logs. Just box scores basically. I know that raw +/- data doesn’t go too far back from that era. They didn’t used to record everything like they do now.

I mean. this is expected due to his streaky 3 point shooting. he can get hot sometimes. but why does he have more 20 point quarters and still have like 1/5th as many 40/50/60 point games

Because he probably sat more 4th quarters than he played at his peak because he was blowing teams out so badly. Check out his mpg. It wasn’t even load management. It was just him dominating on such a level he earned himself a break each night. He was basically too good of a basketball player to achieve those stats. Scoring numbers are nice but in the end it’s about winning. And the context behind your scoring. If Curry played with some dog shit tanking teams and just played 36+ mins a night chucking he could own all those records. But that has never been his priority. It’s been about winning. And because of it he has been one of or the most winning player of his generation.

Him grabbing this record changes nothing about his horrible shooting the last 2 months. No idea why this triggers you or whose alt this is.

no. it's because kobe had more ways to score. and phil routinely sat kobe in the 4th quarter with a big lead. he has like 5 or 6 games where he coulda scored 80+ and stopped after 3 quarters with 50 to 62

All those 20pt quarters by chef. Yet none of them is iconic nor memorable in any special kind of way. :ohwell:

Who's the fvcking sad cases here?

Incredible feat. Especially considering all those games where he sat in blowouts. And those games were often blowouts because of his explosive scoring in the first place.

so you think Kobe didn't come out of games early with 50+? he did quite a few times. I just showed you.
and you also don't think Kobe had more ways to score?
you think curry had kobes ability to score over people inside? draw fouls and take punishment? you think curry had kobes hang time to finish layups? you think he had as many and 1s? you think curry had more counters? you think curry had a post game better than kobes? a better left hand shot? you think curry seriously has more moves.. thats what you're saying? cause we all know both guys had the ability to shoot anywhere. but only kobe could shoot over anyone at any time. so even in that department curry falls short
all curry has over Kobe is handles and 3 point percentage lol
youre lucky defense isn't involved in this discussion
