I love the live audience reaction considering this was in Michigan where Webber was a star. This would never happen today now that all transactions are leaked on social media before anywhere else. Also golden state would eventually get fleeced on this deal though that’s easy to see in hindsight.

One thing that's interesting is how trading future 1st round picks affect franchises. It would be really great to read a historical analysis of how these trades and draft picks eventually changed the outcomes of such franchises by impacting their ability to draft a big name player. Hindsight is 20/20, but the draft is seriously far more impactful than I think most casual fans realize.

I remember the trade but who did orlando select with the picks? I don't remember young talent. Orlando improved by signing h grant as a free agent...from memory.
3 frps seems a lot

Out of the 3 first rounders, Orlando only kept one of which they used to select Mike Miller in 2000. They traded the other two to Washington for Scott Skiles.
What did Washington eventually do with those two picks? Traded them back to Golden State for Chris Webber.
If you are wondering who those two picks that landed in Golden State were, they were Todd Fuller (1996) and Vince Carter (1998). However Golden State trade the Vince Carter pick to Toronto for Antwan Jamison.

Absolutely. Trading Webber for Penny and 3 first rounders seems shocking but that’s how high Webber was speculated at the time.
