Does seeing their game more clearly better illustrate how great they were? Wish we had high quality tape of so much more of the history of the game.

Baylor unfortunately was on a massive decline due to age and injury by the time Wilt joined LA.

If Elgin Baylor was being evaluated for what he did during the years that Wilt Chamberlain was a Laker, Baylor would not be in the Hall of Fame today.

Out of a total of 328 games in the 4 seasons, he played 132; the last playoff game he played was in 1970.

He was horrific in the 1969 Finals.

A true choke job, losing game after game because the coach demanded the Lakers give him the ball.

Baylor in the 1969 finals had four games of 4-18, 2-14 (and 1-5 from the line...in a one-point loss), 4-13, and then a game seven of 8-22 from the field.

In those four games, three of them losses, Baylor shot a combined 18-67, or .26.9!

For the entire series, Baylor shot .39.7.

And how about this...Baylor was the worst shooting Laker player on that entire roster in the entire 1969 playoffs 38.5 while only averaging 15PPG.

grateful for the terrific work on the video side and all sides really.

All the effort getting these clips… have you tried high schools and colleges for old footage? They used to receive the highlight reels after they had been broadcast on the news, and used them to teach footwork and defense and so forth. Long time ago now, but there might be some laying around somewhere in old equipment rooms

That channel is gold. Glad he didn't use that horrible filter/overlay he used to on both sides

Baylor was definitely furthest from his prime and so the least effective those years but I just love watching his tape still - you can see what a tremendous player he at least once was. Didn’t help thar he and Wilt both had to compromise to play together due to their requirement of the left block in a “take turns” kind of manner. That was probably their biggest chemistry puzzle and it looks like they did try to iron it out as best as possible they just didn’t have adequate time, they all were getting older and Baylor in particular was just too old for the trio to succeed
