He made way more than bird also. Everyone now does. It's a different era. Players are shooting more than whole teams from back then. Good thread:facepalm

Oddly enough he didn't make as many 3 pointers as Reggie Miller, Dale Ellis, Glen Rice, Mitch Richmond, Dan Majerle, Dell Curry, John Starks, Terry Porter and Dennis Scott. Despite making twice as many as their contemporary - Michael Jordan.

Without a deep jumper ordan would be a regular guy in today’s league

They were all elite three point shooters with the exception of starks who was still much better than westbrook. How many bad to mediocre three point shooters back then came anywhere close to westbrook?

If you don't think it's an era thing then you're retarded. One of the best three point shooters ever(bird) shot under 2 threes a game. Luka shoots more than birds whole team.

Lets see how dumb you really are. How many threes would bird shoot if he was in this era? Would he still shoot anywhere near 1.9 a game?

Ja 34% 3pt on 4 attempts per game
Jordan 32% on 2 attempts per game with the three point line moved up for him

I don’t doubt Jordan could have a career like DeMar Derozan assuming the refs were in his pocket today as much as yesterday

What you don't seem capable of understanding is that Jordan dominated without taking a lot of threes. A central scorer like Jordan doesn't have to take a lot of threes as he is not a complimentary player out there to space the floor and he would not be in any system. He's too good for that.

And that's not even addressing the fact that Jordan didn't work on threes the way a modern player does. That wasn't how they played back then. For Jordan it was a bail out shot. The goal of the offense was to get his high percentage twos. He made his reputation attacking the basket and as he got older had to rely more on the fade. He was never put there trying to shoot threes. No one was.

Ja's career threepoint % is 34? That's weird the actual facts says it lower than MJ's atm.

I love ja but come talk to me when he puts up 3 post seasons in a row of 39% from 3. That was from the regular 3pt line btw.

Oh and thanks for making my point dip shit. A player like ja who's a mediocre 3pt shooter shoots more than twice as many threes as bird did.

Word of advice bruh don't ever become a lawyer:oldlol:

it's a low percentage shot.

jeez, i wonder how MJ was able to win all those scoring titles without taking any 3s?

It shouldn't be a surprise that the goat 2-point jumpshooter and goat shooting form shot well from three anytime he took more than bailout volume (more than 1.5 attempts), despite never practicing.

Even Curry would have a deflated percentage if he purposefully limited himself to 1 highly-contested, end-of-shot clock three per game like Jordan did (bailout volume)... :confusedshrug:

It's called basketball 101

Players in Jordan’s era just didn’t have the skill to take that shot consistently, complimentary players like KD and Curry today take multiple threes per game efficiently because they can confidently do so and 3>2. This is part of the reason (zone defenses being a big one) Jordan would not dominate today

Agreed.

They should also cancel Jimmy Butler's all-star invite since he's only made 14 3-pointers this season.

jordan didn't shoot a bunch of them every game though. he knew he sucked at them even when wide open.

Westbrook keeps jacking them up wide open and missing

Difference between respecting the greatness and slurping. He's not even in my favorite players list.

So he only made a few of them even with a shorter wnba line.

By that logic, that would include the great scottie pippen also.
