Vogel is a defensive assistant, not a head coach or an offensive mind. There's no way he would be smart enough to design an offense that can somehow wrangle Westbrook's elite turnover ability along with stopping Bronball's go-stand-in-the-corner-til-I-say-you-can-shoot playbook.

Westbrook is obviously washed up, but after seeing Vogel being unable to lead his team over the Blazers (who are quite possibly the worst team in the league roster wise rn), I have to think he's not as bad as he's looked.

I think Vogel might be gone if Lakers can't get a trade to improve somewhere tomorrow. Another coach like Fizdale will try to see if they can do something to get to Westbrook. I don't expect it to work, but I don't see Westbrook/Vogel co-existing past the deadline.

Westbrook really shouldn’t even be in the league playing like he has. Terrible at every facet of basketball. Arrogant, stubborn, uncoachable.

I give him one more year until he can’t find starting gigs. And yes just gigs, these temporary positions.
