I find its the person asking the question that's sensitive and generally don't accept the answer

Not that it matters, but what are your thoughts on organic protein powder?
Is it as good as the regular stuff and do you know of any companies who ship it in bulk?

Organic really doesn't matter.
How much bulk we talking? Raw materials are expensive. You have to be a major manufacturer to get any significant discount

Wouldn't necessarily need a discount to make selling protein powder viable, but say it gets delivered maybe 50-100 pounds at a time, how long could it last and what kind of storage conditions would be needed if not in the regular sealed containers? Tempature, humidity and so on..

That's not a lot. We're talking 2 to 3 thousand pounds.
You may get a wholesale discount from some retailers? I could sell yo you direct if you have a business license.

Where I'm hoping to sell it, it will just be one of many problems. I'm not sure it's feasible storing it though, unless it's already packed in the seal container.
Would have to be stored somehow on an organic urban farm.
I think it's too far away from you for it to make sense shipping it, but I do appreciate it.

Bro, as my long time ISHer homie, whey is a piss poor investment. Cost is up astronomically. We're all pivoting into alternative source. For every retailer I have they buy huge and get small margin. Not worth the time. Unless you but 2 to 3 k pounds you can get a return. 20% margin is not business investment you want. I use protein as a loss leader. I get more money on amino and grey area products. Run away from whey.

Put it this way. I buy 5000 lb. And I still got to formulate product. I make 25% just to keep in the shelf. Most goes through my distributors. If you want to front money to buy in that moves the needle a small bit. Invest elsewhere.

Yeah probably not worth looking into it more specifically, protein powder would only be one in between hopefully 350-450 different products and I'd mainly consider it from a convenience point of view, so customers could get it at my shop if they wanted.
- Has to be organic.
- Has to be locally sourced(Southern Europe) or the shipping has to make sense as best as possible.
- As little plastic and waste used in the process between getting it from produce to customer as possible, preferably none used at all.
- No meats.
Those are the main pillars I'm working around for this project, so probably it's a no go with protein powder

Your looking at a substantial mark up. I get hydrolyzed and that expensive as hell. Getting so called organic is a wicked mark up. Those manufacturers get such a big volume. Coca cola buys 100,000 lbs+. You can't buy those volumes at a minimum. There are dozens of manufacturers that buy more than me.
There's no way to compete. Protein is a big loser

Get in touch with a main manufactuer. They'll probably subcontract you. Otherwise you're definitely buying from a distributor who will rape you. No margin. Especially at start up. Look at pumpkin protein. It's very low now

Supply chain for packages is another headache. There's such a big demand. Put it this way. I buy bottles and lids from 2 separate molders. If they dint fit you're ****ed.
Subcontract and I'll find you a manufacturer that can do low volume. But I guarantee they'll rape you. Then when you get finished product you still have to compete. Even against me and I have a huge distribution

Alright I'll keep that in mind for when the time comes.
Very cool about the pumpkin protein, I'll try and look into that

I was always told don't trust a person that starts a sentence : " I am not lying to you ......."
I know a multi-millionaire that says it all the time , and I would trust him with my life.
