View Full Version : Biggest * NBA seasons for titles. Anything worse than 2020 Bubble?

2019-2020 season:
Covid hit, gameplay stops for 5 full months.
Once play resumed - no travel for any teams
No crowds for any teams
No partying, gambling, extra curricular activities for young men with a ton of money burning a hole in their pocket.
Riots broke out due to BLM crap
Both Los Angeles teams agreed to *not* continue to play in the bubble and go "join the protests"...until the league told them they wouldn't get playoff pay bonuses.
Some key league players did not join the bubble at all
Other key players snuck out to eat wings and were forced to quarantine
Finals round, Lakers had a well-rested group with 5 months off, no crowd, no travel, and faced the #5 seed from the East missing 2 starters and still took 6 games to win.
This is my vote for the biggest ***** ring of all time.
Honorable mentions to 1999, 2012, or any other shortened season.

The Lakers still wouldve won 2020 with AD playing how he did and the path they had avoiding the clippers and facing the +6000 underdog odds Heat who lost Bam and Dragic for games as well. They had a very lucky path that year.

not really, since the space-time continuum isn't completely fixed yet. and until then, the media, who also owns a portion of space, will continue to play the part of prove it.
which is again, a matter regarding fate vs. free will

Nah, 2001 is honestly worse. Facing Iverson in the Finals, the only season he even made it past the 2nd round, is a huge asterisk.

Unless cheating occurred, no championship can have an asterisk attached to it.

It's indisputable that 2020 was an asterisk title.
-The season was cut short.
-Players were locked away and that affected certain guys differently.
-Some guys caught Covid-19 and their conditioning wasn't prepared for it at that point.
-The Lakers track record the last 2 seasons proves they aren't nearly as dominant a team as they looked.
Players that have a hard time handling pressure benefitted the most from that bubble season. They were practice games. Players that can't handle the pressure of joining the dunk contest or that play hot potato loved that bubble environment, no matter how dramatic they try to depict the situation was.

Damn, you know you're EXTRA desperate when you're trying to make winning a championship in these conditions look like a "bad" thing. :oldlol:
You forgot to add "Refs didn't feel subconsciously pressured to make unfair home court calls" as a negative as well.
Anyway, the biggest asterisk for an NBA title is: "Winning a championship in the 1990s"

The 2020 Blazers were 35-39 LOL. They were worse than the 1998 Nets.
The 2020 Rockets were barely mediocre and not better at all than the 1998 Hornets. In fact, they finished with a lower win% than that Hornets team. And you’re really gonna use Westbrook to try and prop up that team? LOL
Meanwhile the 1998 Pacers finished with a greater win % than the 2020 Nuggets on top of having the far superior SRS. But you go on now and keep listing those individuals in a team game. LOL :lol

Yeah, definitely.
$ilver deciding not to suspend Draymond Green for game 7 of the Western Conference Finals against the Thunder after he kicked a guy in the nuts for the 167th time during those playoffs was a travesty.
Glad it happened in retrospect though, because that got the Warriors in the finals. And it feels good to say LeBron beat a 73-9 team in the finals while being the only player ever (still!) to lead both teams in all categories in any playoffs series. :applause:

Wow......25 years. Being an obsessed hater for that long can't be natural.
The only conclusion I can come to is that MJ must have had illicit relations with your mom. He might even be your dad. That actually explains a lot. Like why you're so obsessed with Princess Brony. You both got fathered by NBA players. You by MJ and Brony by Delonte West. Makes you feel like a kindred spirit with him.
