Acquire Demar Derozan and they would of been good, Los Angeles native too would of been very easy. Instead they wanted to go all in with Rondo Melo and Howard

DeRozan fits waayyyyyyy better with the Bulls than he would have with the Lakers.

You wouldn't see the masterful performances he's been putting on this year if he was stuck in a Bron ball system.

Seemed like they were expecting him to take a huge pay cut at the time. Not sure it was even realistic.

Westbrook was a mistake. We should have just kept Caruso, kcp, and s&t for DeRozan. Then add veterans minimum of Dwight, Melo, and scrubs. There would be no nunn but who cares? Probably no THT either but who cares?

AD/Dwight
Stanley/Melo
Bron/Ariza
Kcp/monk/reaves
DeRozan/caruso/Bradley

Then couple scrubs on minimum.

He is not good at spot up threes so he sucks.

I dont think Derozan would be a good fit in LA but he'd be a hell of a lot better than Westbrook. Still cant believe the Lakers traded for him and his massive contract.

Yeah, I'm sure he was thrilled with the prospect of LeSelfish making basketball boring for him and holding him back.

No way DeRozan plays like this next to LeBarry...ever

if you believe your center is going to be Lebron James, who gives you 7.7 rebounds per 36 minutes, and then pair him with another guy that gives you 5.3 rebounds per 36 minutes, and that's gonna solve your problem

you must have truly render any player outside of this current era as useless/unathletic whatsoever

should've gone with the other former raptor in lowry. s/t with schroeder or trade with kcp tht etc works. derozan would be a 3rd option with bron/ad not enough room to shine. Lowry shoots it well and does a lot of things you look for from guys without the ball. Hield was a simple but logical plan too. Keeping caruso over THT was a must, THT was a move for the future.

not the first move lal has made or not made recently thinking about duh future or saving money. if lebron wasn't a man of honor and loyal to an organization once he's locked into a contract he'd demand a trade.

That would have to be done before last year's trade deadline. Problem was that Lakers refused to give up THT because they thought he was on his way to stardom. Lakers also thought they could make Schroeder work somehow by giving it more time. Obviously both things blew up in their faces, and Lakers ended up being wrong about it all.

Looking in hindsight, we should have traded THT, Schroeder and kcp for Lowry in Toronto before the trade deadline last year. Then trade Kuzma/Harrell for Hield.

AD/Dwight
Stanley/Melo
LeBron/Ariza
Hield/monk/reaves
Lowry/caruso/Bradley

would be a solid team too. We would still have the mid-level exception to spend. My guess would be the Lakers would still go after nunn with that, but who knows..

Re-signing Caruso and keeping kuz, kcp and Trezz was all they had to do. If those players ball out, you have an unbelievably deep team. If they dont that’s ok too because now you have a collection of very tradeable assets you could probably swing to land dame lillard.

Yeah, how did the Lakers end up with Westbrook anyway??? Oh wait, I forgot. Brony put together his "War Room" and recruited him.

Of course, we all know with or without Westbrook "Zero Defense Brony's" team would suck this year. The only carrying Lebron can do at this stage in his career is carrying the ball for an extra few steps when he drives. :lol

No, it doesn't work when your "best player" severely lacks basic fundamentals and forces the entire roster to cater to him.

Trez was leaving if we didn't trade him. He was only opting-in with the condition of a trade. He didn't want to be here.

Kuzma had to go, and kcp could be added to trade for salary purposes. There was still the option of packaging kuzma + trezz and keeping kcp though. That was essentially the Hield trade (kuzma + trez for hield). Like morons, we added kcp and 1st round pick to that package for Westbrick (while passing on Caruso at the same time).

Most non Lakers fans here claim that AD is the best player. So you agree that James is?

AD was the Lakers best player in '20 and '21. This year it's not as cut and dry. AD's offense has been brilliant in some games and has completely sucked in others. Lebron's offense has been pretty consistent, but he's a huge liability on defense. Even when AD's offense is lacking he has huge defensive impact. So this year, between AD and Lebron, take your pick.

AD is broken, you can only squeeze one championship out of AD and that's it.

Nope all they had to do was stick with the same formula that won them the championship back in 2020 which was surrounding LeBron + AD with defensive role players who can shoot like Caruso, Green,KCP :facepalm
