I've known of one person in the last 6 months, and a couple people from your 05/20-03/21 time period...maybe 3 (I can't get a hold of one person since early 2020). All of them have had co-morbidities, like lung cancer but that's beyond the point. Although I never 100% believed in the COVID numbers, it's still impossible to correlate what is real based on how many people you know personally. That's such a small sample size, 400-750 people? Then if you want to get to the people that they know, we are only looking at about a couple thousand to a few thousand people. Knowing 8 people who have died from it is actually the biggest number I've heard anyone around me say, it's quite some bad luck. Sorry to hear about your losses.

The media only salivated about COVID deaths in 2020. Every other second, MSM was happy to update us on the death count while attributing all the COVID U.S. and worldwide deaths to Trump. 2021, complete silence on death count even though 2021 COVID deaths were much higher than 2020. 2022, the numbers are worse than 2021 and 2020 combined per the CDC...but the MSM coverage and democrat party politics of it all did a complete 180. Whether anyone believes the CDC numbers or not, the MSM narrative has completely turned around.

But I guess you are mainly talking about the people around you. It could be variance, or luck, with the small sample size of people you know. And also, the people who have a high % of dying from COVID have already passed away as we head into year 3 of the 2 weeks to slow the spread.

You can't calculate it like that.

For example, if you only calculate the first 50 days of 2021, the daily death would be 3000+. Much higher than the first 50 days of 2022 despite much lower cases.

I'm too tired to look it up, (it's very difficult with the Google censoring), but there was a freedom of information request in the UK, back in December, to force the officials to release the actual number of people who died of just Covid, and it was very low. Like 6%. And from that low number you have to assume that most of those people had an unknown condition.

I do know that there was a study that looked into 48,000 kids that had zero comorbidities, and also had Covid. And out of those 48,000 children, zero of them died.

I've only know of one person who died of it, and that was back in May 2020. My immediate guess is that it all has to do with the way Covid deaths are reported AND hospitals naturally learning how to treat it after the first few months of the pandemic.

The person that I knew, he got Covid, was sick as ****, and everybody who knew him knows that he died of it. If he would have caught it say 6 months later, then he probably would have had a significant better chance of surviving it. And thus no deaths.

Now if a healthy person got the Omicron. Didn't even know it, but then died in a motorcycle accident. His body has to get tested, and if positive then it gets lumped into the Covid deaths. As far as everyone who knew him is concerned, he died of a motorcycle accident.

The Omicron is much more mild and contagious than the original. Which means that more people who die of random stuff, or go to the hospital for random stuff are going to have it. They all have to get tested, and if positive they get listed as a hospitalized Covid patient or death.
