lakers are a family owned franchise. they don't really make money from anything else like other nba owners. they got cheap is the answer. refused to trade for lowry last yr because they'd have had to pay him this past offseason. didn't even try to sign or s&t schroeder because they didn't want money coming back. let caruso walk because they didn't want to pay him. wouldn't trade westbrook/tht for wall/wood because it would cost them more money.
